Do you have a lbd kind of outfit

Probably 90% of my existence is covered by casual/smart casual outfits if not more. But a few times a year I will have something that bit smarter to go to - a work social/client entertaining event, a more fancy night out etc. every time I am caught short and panic and end up buying something I wear once that looks a bit off and I fidget in.

last year I thought I’d cracked it. I had a fitted top/wide legged trouser outfit that wasn’t cutting edge fashion but it was quietly stylish, versatile and I always got compliments. Basically it was my version of a little black dress.

i have lost quite a bit of timber so it no longer fits. I am doing a post weight loss wardrobe reset and I just don’t have anything to fill the gap.

so just a musing - are others ‘smart event ready’ or do you buy per event (and yes I know you can hire but I’m not talking that fancy, just slightly posher). And what is your go too. I did read an article that ‘jeans and a nice top’ was coming back which was basically what I had but with slightly waftier trousers

also shoes. I live in boots/trainers and rarely wear shoes (I have funeral shoes and two pairs of ballet flats). Maybe throw them into the mix too

I've got several outfits that are in nice fabric and fit well (trousers and skirts with tops and blouses) to which i add a luxe colourful scarf, glam necklace, or bright jacket for "events".
Saves a lot of panic buying.
