Footwear with wider leg casual trousers

Ideas?
I tend to live in smart trainers as I walk a lot.

I've bought some cord wide leg trousers (not flares.) I'll be wearing them with (possibly) a smart longer length wool coat.

Having lived in skinny jeans or smarter 'cigarette' style trousers I feel a bit lost.

My other option is flat ankle boots but not sure if they look right?
Loafers or pumps are out as I don't find them comfortable for walking.

I wear trainers or brogues.

I wear minimal footwear with them as wide leg trousers are the main event not the shoes.
I usually wear flat court shoes, very understated boots or similar. Nothing clumpy or bulky.

I wear trainers.

Trainers or sandals in warmer weather.
I tend to go more for straighter leg when I wear boots.

I just wear smart trainers. Mine are navy leather trainers with a white sole.
