anything specific you want me to ask / report back on?

oh fishie that's interesting
it would be lovely to have a 'luxury' type shampoo but they all destroy my scalp
I'm ok with them doing it once in the salon, it's just if I try to use regularly at home

yes hers is really bad too and ginger makes it worse which is what they put in a lot of the 'sensitive' ones. i can't remember what i got, it was for xmas and she is still using it, so does last!

oh oh oh
I want a pedicure as well now
the fact I am short on funds as my maternity doodah has not kicked in may or may not deter me

zippitippitoes · 06/06/2008 10:56

this shampoo is excellent here

Oooh, my lovely SIL gave me a whole load of Aveda bath stuff and body lotion just after DD was born. It was definitely worth having a baby for... Do report back generally, I keep on walking past and wanting to go in but it looks a bit scary (tlb shuffles off with manky eyebrows and growing out haircut...)

FrannyandZucchini · 06/06/2008 11:04

I can see my feet
I am sitting with them up for most of the day
it is all I ruddy do see

oh god would need to shave legs before having pedicure probably
otherwise beautician may get injured from fierce stubble

OP posts:
FrannyandZucchini · 06/06/2008 11:04

oh actually leg hair seems to have ceased to grow
does that mean it is a girl

OP posts:
EffiePerine · 06/06/2008 11:08

aveda shampoos are lovely (can't afford them myself but hairdresser uses them)

HaventSleptForAYear · 06/06/2008 13:02

Sorry franny my leg and eyebrow ceased to grow at end of pregnancy with...

DS2.

Are you hoping for a girl?

FrannyandZucchini · 06/06/2008 16:22

well, not really, would quite like another boy tbh
however have learnt that once out I don't care WHAT it is

will do proper report in a bit
it took forever
and my head hurts
but is pretty colours

ok
the salon itself was not as nice I expected - usual kind of shitey music
hairdresser talked entirely about big brother and other tv progs which was fun

I think she has done a good job. The colours are quite bright and clear - she spent quite a time on discussing what look I wanted and brought out the colour charts and so on
the cut is ok but she has cut too much (IMO) off the layers which I explained I was trying to grow out

when she took the foils off she kind of RIPPED them off
laughing 'oh dear not much more of this torture haha'
no-one has EVER hurt me taking off a foil before
it was awful! then she used this horrible scratchy comb to get the knots out, really roughly
I expect my pain threshold is really low or something, but I actually had to do breathing exercises, no shit
she said "is that ok?" and I said "it's really hurting, actually" and she said she would give me a lollipop when it was over

anyway
I used loo downstairs and saw the treatment rooms and they look FAB
will definitely have something done and pray I don't get a sadist pedicurist
they were all low lights and hippie whale music and looked really really special

I am not sure if I would go again or not
the service was not so good as T+G's
oh yes when I asked for herbal tea I got earl grey
I know this is daft stuff but I like all the extras you get at T+G's and the salon is nice and busy and interesting
I was the only one there most of the time today
and you didn't get magazines

I like extras

oh I asked about your hair cod and she said to cover grey, either get it done in golden tones (eg not red or copper), a shade darker than your usual as it will fade a bit in the sun

or wait till after summer

well as I say it is quite good colour IMO
I don't see why it is any better or different to any other salon
the shampoos and things smelt of herbs but had bags of chemicals in when I checked the labels
and my hair stinks of peroxide, it wasn't exactly an organic rhapsody in there

FrannyandZucchini · 06/06/2008 18:27

honestly has anyone ever been hurt by a foil before? I have never felt anything like it
I would have said "what do you think you are doing you insane person" but she had already said "ooh this does hurt, doesn't it, oh dear ha ha"

OP posts:
zippitippitoes · 06/06/2008 18:29

yes i couldnt quite understand the vegetarian angle re colours either

well at least you like the result

tell us how long it lasts because that was my gripe

zippitippitoes · 06/06/2008 18:30

i have never thought of foils hurting

FrannyandZucchini · 06/06/2008 18:30

the blonde will last as is bleached
the red won't as they never do

OP posts:
FrannyandZucchini · 06/06/2008 18:31

let me assure you if you fail to unwrap them but instead WRENCH them from the person's head then they do indeed hurt quite a lot

if you then give said person a vigourous shampooing they will probably feel like they want to cry

and not leave you a tip
