What looks more elegant? What do you prefer ?

I always get coloured gels. Usually a rich pinky shade, not neon or cheap pink colour. However, my latest gels - my usual go to colour, which i have had lots of times and absolutely love (or did love) - Im wondering if the shade looked cheap and if a nude or a more natural colour would have looked more elegant

What's your thoughts ?

To me, French manicures look very nineties. But maybe they’ve come back in fashion like a lot of other nineties stuff! I like a nice plain muted colour myself.

I’m not a fan of French manicure.

I only do my nails myself, but I keep them short and only ever paint them in red, plum, or a neutral pink.
Possibly a brighter pinky/purple in summer.

Nude for winter is good, IMO. I’ve found some of the taupe shades make my fingers look dirty, weirdly! My go-to was OPI Rosy Future until I couldn’t find it any more, which was sheer pink with a subtle shell-like iridescence - really flattering. Also slightly almond-shaped, though I do love short, square nails in darker shades.

My nail woman said French is becoming popular again. I've had a couple recently but more of of a natural look than the 2000s higher contrast tippex white long tips. The pink is pretty much my nail colour and the white is a more creamy shade.

I usually go for nude/beige so I would say I'm quite conservative with nails, although I've got a chocolate brown shade at the moment.

Colourful gels often look cheap, like needing to hide a real nail behind a piece of plastic.

Healthy clean natural nails are the most classy.

I've got a french fade at the mo. Bit more modern/ interesting than basic french. I have long nails.

I get quickly bored by colour and even more quickly bored with nude shades and french is just a classic.

Plus if your having gels you can't see the grow out gap as soon if the pink is a good match to your own nails.

I love a short, natural looking french. They are hard to maintain even in gel so I’m always envious if I see someone with that look. I’m sure all your choices look lovely - it’s a just a change is nice sometimes.

I think nude or dark colours look most elegant, navy, burgundy, forest green.

French reminds me of footballers wives in the 90s

I use nail wraps from Lily & Fox…mostly French as they’re my fave and they’re generally easier to apply. However, I’ve gone for a red this time. I only ever do block colours, no patterns, but nudes don’t suit me. Excuse my hands - I hate them! Always have!

I have a deep burgundy in the winter as it goes with everything, reds, pinks, brown, green. In the summer it’s always faded French as again goes with everything.

I don't follow nail trends so don't know what is 'current' but I choose from all three. My preferred polish is regular DND, not gel on natural, mid length nails.

Colour - Creamy Macaroon (pink)
Nude - Slinky Taupe
French manicure - curved white tip and nude polish, not pink.

I also leave my nails unpolished or just use a clear coat strengthening polish from time to time.
