She is being Christened in August. We are having quite a big celebration and I desparately want a nice outfit to wear. What do you wear for these sort of things?! I don't want to wear a suit type outfit, was thinking more of a nice dress or trousers and top, but can't find anything suitable. thankyou.

what sort of thing are you after? sleeveless? strappy? my first stop for all these sorts of occasions would be monsoon, but for my dd's christening i wore a m and s top and grey trousers.

I'm fancying get dressed up, don't get chance too often! Was thinking strappy dress, but obviously suitable for the occasion!

Yes - more details please. What size are you? Big norks/small norks? Good legs? Arms? In church so need to cover arms for part of it, presumably, but afterwards could you do strappy/strapless? Oh yes, and will you need to bf? And budget. (sorry for all the questions, but it does make it easier!).

janjas · 05/06/2008 20:44

Sorry, I'm size 10/12, medium norks, average legs but tend to suit knee length, good arms from carrying a child round constantly! Prefer strappy/strapless. Don't need to bf, she's nearly 2 - bit late sorting this out. Budget appx £50. thanks for your help xx

Ooh - a dream to dress. How about something like this?
This is lovely, but a bit over budget.
Ditto this. But you might need some sort of shrug over the top of these, or a little cardigan - it might be August, but you can't count on good weather.

And this is gorgeous, but maybe a bit eveningy.

janjas · 05/06/2008 20:56

Oh Jackie they are all lovely, and perfect for the occasion. I never thought of Principals. Will have a look at the weekend. Thankyou so much. xx

They have some lovely stuff.

There's also this - gorgeous colours, but a love-it or hate-it pattern.
Or Another one

A bit eveningy but I love the colour.
And (before I dash off to watch the Invisibles), Wallis also probably worth a visit.

Good hunting.

Well Jackie Ive just ordered 2 dresses to look at from Principles. Both look lovely. Thanks so much for your help!
