Autumn/winter capsule work wardrobe smart/casual office

Work in finance so some v well dressed ladies but same time are smart/casual.

im struggling to find my own wardrobe, would like to invest in a few basics but no idea where to start.

What’s your budget? And level of seniority? And where do your current work clothes come from?

(No point people listing Cos, Studio Nicholson, The Frankie Shop, Rohe, Massimo Dutti, Me and Em, Wyse, Toteme, Margaret Howell, Uniqlo, Sofie D’Hoore, etc, if you’re only prepared to shop from Next …)

I'd start with:
A neutral (not black or navy) blazer, softly tailored not tight
Wide high waisted trousers x2, patterned if you'd like or black, navy, cream or khaki
Fine wool ribbed polo necks x2
Silky shirt x2
Long bias cut silky skirt in dark jewel colour (uniqlo ones are great)
Small block heel ankle boots

Buy from vinted where you can, this enables you to try things at a lower price point so lower risk! Also better environmentally and you can head for brands like whistles, reiss, And other stories, hobbs, lk bennet, mint velvet all of which are great for work clothes.

My capsule wardrobe this winter is two pairs of fab wide legged smart trousers, and then a few shirts/blouses, most buttonless, along with some pointed flats. A handful of boat neck jumpers too. The trousers are new and quality but the rest I tend to source from Vinted or charity shops as I see stuff. Have a three quarter sleeve blazer I can throw over the top if needed.

In that case just immerse yourself in the websites I’ve cited - you should emerge refreshed!
