Great Micellar Water at a decent price?

Blossom4538 · 18/10/2025 00:26

Pls can anyone recommend something a little cheaper than Garnier Micellar? Myself and my Daughter get through so much, it’s costing a fortune! We tried Boots own which really stung our skin and Primark own brand which was ok, but kind of sticky!

Any recommendations much appreciated. Thank you.

CeraVe is the only one I can use. Big bottle for a tenner but you don't need loads.

Im happy with my boots sensitive skin one.

CeciliaMars · 18/10/2025 11:30

I noticed yesterday that Boots is doing own brand Micellar water.

bungobungobungo · 18/10/2025 11:36

I use the Nivea one from
Home Bargains and have sensitive skin.

RockaLock · 18/10/2025 11:42

Honestly I think that Garnier is one of the cheapest ones out there!

Boots often have good deals on it (other places probably do as well) so just keep an eye out for those and stock up then.

jan2310 · 18/10/2025 11:46

The Simple one is very good

NoWordForFluffy · 18/10/2025 11:47

I use Sainsbury's own. No idea how it compares to others.

Freebus · 18/10/2025 11:47

Simple is good.

I'd say its a case of looking out for the deals. I have boots advantage card and the superdrug loyalty card and this reduces the prices at times.

I've often wondered what the micellar bit is all about. Used to use straightforward make up remover.

Cheap face cleanser.

I don’t think Miscellar water has any magic properties that ordinary face cleaners don’t have!

Primark one is very cheap

Costco had two huge bottles of the Garnier one for about £11 yesterday, if you or someone you know has a membership.

NannyOf8Girls · 18/10/2025 13:42

I prefer the Simple micellar too.

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 18/10/2025 13:44

In a pinch I bought some from Lidl which was pretty good.

Starlight40 · 18/10/2025 13:46

Tesco, it removes all my eye makeup up

Redruby2020 · 18/10/2025 14:59

How funny this could have been me that posted this!
I have used the pink Garnier for years, tried some of their other ones, never got on well with it.
So always went back to the pink one.
I tried Simples one they do like Garnier a smaller bottle or a huge one, few pounds cheaper. But it is not clear if it can be used around the the eyes, then they do another one that is for eye make up removal. Which is the main thing I need it for.

Anyhow like you i saw the price going up and tried some others, some really stung and weren’t nice, like the Nivea one.

So I tried the Lidl’s one, Lidl’s used to also have the Garnier one next to their own.
It’s only a couple of pounds, for I think it’s a 400ml bottle, fragrance free etc.
To be fair it is okay, I felt that something in the ingredients may have contributed towards my under eye getting crepey, but can’t be completely sure of that.
So have since, got through quite a few bottles of that.

Then went in Savers for some bits one day, and ended up buying Garnier again 😄 the huge bottle which I used to buy, and it was £6 something which it has been for a while. And now it’s coming near the end, I’m wondering what to get next 😄

I use Sainsbury's own. No idea how it compares to others.

I use this too - £2.80 for what seems like a large bottle. I’m used more expensive brands and this is just as good.

Olderbutt · 18/10/2025 15:24

Ive tried others but go back to Garnier (pink) as it's the best I believe. For 700ml , the largest bottle, it's £6.50 in Tesco until mid November with a Clubcard. It's £6.49 in Savers pretty much all the time. They do home delivery if needed.

I use this. It smells nice as well.

The Garnier is on special offer in Superdrug just now, and is also the same price at Amazon.

snoffle · 18/10/2025 15:34

I love the Simple ones, I buy whichever is on offer. I have sensitive skin, it's great for me for both cleansing skin and for taking off eye make up. Often on offer: £3 at the moment in Boots for 400ml.

NoAprilFool · 20/10/2025 15:30

It’s often half price with nectar on Sainsbury’s - I stock up when it is

IsadoraQuagmire · 20/10/2025 15:42

I always go back to the pink Garnier too, others I've tried (including other Garnier varieties) haven't suited my skin so well. But I never buy it at full price, it's regularly on special offer in various shops.
