Vinted noob question

I bought a gorgeous tweed jacket on Vinted two weeks ago. The first time I have used Vinted.
The seller sent it promptly, but now it's stuck with Evri. I asked the seller to check with Evri but she had no luck and says I just have to wait. Apparently several of her packages are stuck.
Is this a usual thing? Anything I can do?
I particularly wanted to wear it for a trip.

I use Vinted a lot for buying and selling, and never had any issues until last week when I sold something and it never arrived with the buyer, who had 9 things they'd bought at the same time from different sellers through Vinted all lost by Evri!

I've sent the buyer on the proof of postage info and a picture of the package with the label attached which I always take as extra evidence, just incase. Hopefully it all gets sorted out.

It seems like Evri are having major issues this month from reading everyone else's posts here.

I've had some items delayed death Evri that were due to be delivered to a local collection shop. Strangely they were then both delivered to my home, quite a lot later!
I've also had a delay with In post and Yodel!

Evri is a PITA at the moment , I ordered a John Lewis parcel which was due Monday & still not arrived …

bugalugs45 · 17/10/2025 14:33

You will get your money back from Vinted but worth saying it takes 5 weeks for them to consider it lost , then you need to remember to report it lost , or they don’t pay out ! Cheeky wotsits

I've recently just started selling with vinted but someone wanted to return something as they said the colour wasn't as advertised so to avoid any bad reviews i agreed.
Anyway she sent it back via in post and I had an email saying there had been a technical issue and there would be a delay with parcel.
Every time I check tracking nothings changed, this has been about 4 weeks now.
Does anyone know what I'm supposed to do,have I just lost the jacket and the money?

Vinted isn't the platform for speedy delivery tbh, as its so dependent on the seller being prompt (and there's a generous window for things to be dispatched) and then the delivery being prompt, evri is famously poor in general.

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 17/10/2025 14:53

Yes, this can happen.

I had something take a long and convoluted road trip round the country before eventually being delivered to me a month later.

Another parcel got lost, and I had to wait about 6 weeks before I was able to confirm to Vinted that it had never arrived. I got refunded my money and the seller got compensation in the amount of the sale price, but it was annoying for both of us because the seller had to wait ages for their money and I never got my item, which was obviously worth more to me than the refund.

I haven’t had any issues with Evri but have had 2 InPost deliveries never arrive.

Rumpledandcrumpled · 17/10/2025 15:34

I don’t understand how it’s put you off vinted if you selected Evri. They are utter shit now. When you pick the delivery option click on the little pencil and it gives you all the options. I always pick Royal Mail. And on the rare occasion a seller only has Evri listed I don’t buy the item.

I’m quite friendly with my Evri delivery lady. The other week she collected a rather large parcel from us and commented about it taking up too much room in her dining room. I enquired why would it be going to her dining room, wrongly assuming it would go straight to the depot. Apparently after they finish shift they go home, they aren’t paid to go back to depot and they take the parcels, collected and undelivered, back to their homes. In this instance she wasn’t on duty for another 5 days so our parcel was going to sit in her dining room for the next 5 days until she was on paid shift again.

And we wonder why they sometimes takes ages to deliver, well you have it there!!

Wow, that clears a lot up to be honest. Round here they are shockingly bad.,

Evri are even more rubbish than usual atm. I have 4 Vinted parcels that have been 'out for delivery' for the last two weeks to Evri lockers. I've now had two messages, saying 2 of the 4 are being returned to the sender 'after attempting to deliver your parcel without success'. They were supposed to be delivered to their lockers!

I've just had another message about a third parcel, admitting it is 'deemed lost in our network'. Yes, I know I will receive refunds (eventually), but not many people order items for the refund...
