Wide leg trousers lengths and shoes

I can't decide between two lengths.
I bought the m&s wide length trousers from a post a couple of weeks ago.

I'm tall so ordered Long length, but feel like it's a trip hazard unless wearing chunkier shoes.

So I got the Regular length which came today and depending on what shoes I wear they seem slightly too short (but not shorter than B in the photos below).

I've added some photos of the styling from m&s.

Does anyone seriously wear them like C, touching the floor?

What length do you normally wear them?

C is just a touch too long, but offends me less than A and B which are too short.

(Alternatively, all are too long if you fancy the cropped wide leg thing that's quite prevalent at the moment, but that's not for me.)

I've got those trousers (in short, I'm only 5ft3) and they probably look closer to A, but I wear them with platform trainers which obviously lift them off the floor a bit more (and don't look so mumsy)
C would be silly, as they would end up wet and dirty!
Reviews say they shrink in the wash but mine have been fine so far.

onceuponatimeinneverland · 14/10/2025 17:07

Not C, maybe B, prefer A

Noshadelamp · 14/10/2025 22:07

Thank you! I completely agree with not C.
@lalaloopyhead I hadn't read the reviews they mentioned length shrinking- Ill keep the longer leg and wash them to see what happens!

Mine are just off the floor so they cover a pair of trainers

None of them. A and B are too short and C are a fraction too long. I get this at marks and Spencer with their jeans and trousers. I’d buy C if I really loved them and have them ever so slightly hemmed or I’d wear them with a chunkier soled shoe to lift them slightly. See how they wash though before changing them.

B is far too short.
a is a bit too short
c is too long. I’d ideally buy c and shorten them. Or wash them and hope they shrink a couple of cm.

FancyCatSlave · 15/10/2025 09:34

I’d keep C, wash them and hope for the best. My DD has a kids equivalent and they did shrink and obviously she’s still growing so they righted themselves.

I wore them like C in the 90’s as I’m a short person and they were wet and disgusting but at 15 I didn’t care. Adult me would care!

I was also a 90s fan and will never go back to having wet trousers!
