Is my Kate Spade bag genuine?

Bought this lovely bag in a charity shop today. I love Kate Spade so I'm not overly upset if it's a copy. I'm just wondering as its supposed to be leather but the finish doesn't look leather?

kate spade like many brands often uses Saffiano leather.

this is a technique of waxing, embossing and coating a leather to produce a uniform and hard wearing material

problem is any shit old leather or even PU can be used and the final result is stiff and I leather like. Brands like Michael Kors use it extensively but then so does Prada who created saffiano in the first place

So is real leather or PU? It looks very much like a one being sold on Ebay. But the eBay bag has a fault on the handle and really doesn't look like leather at all around the fault. I'm trying to buy fewer bags ( opps!) And my thinking is that leather will last better. Mind you I'm not taking it back either way. I just hope it lasts and doesn't start to peel.

It looks to be of good quality. The material looks like it has a coating but this is quite common with real leather bags.
I'm wondering if it is genuine but specifically made for factory outlets or other retailers.

As PP said it looks like a saffiano finish. I have a Prada wallet with the same finish. It’s very hard wearing.

I would say yes, but only because Kate Spade is a nice but everyday brand, so why would someone produce a fake?

I'm inclined to think it is real ,judging by the finish and quality of lining. I'm guessing it's not going to be worth hundreds and likely to be from their more affordable range which I've just discovered they have.

Kate Spade has some very premium products. They used to cost ££££'s. Lots of fake handbags out there.

That's good news. Hopefully this will be a long lasting bag! IMO any bag over £200 is faked in places like Turkey. I had a really great fake Chloe bag from Thailand but this one would so easy to copy.

I felt a bit guilty buying another bag but that has passed knowing its leather.
