Nail wraps wont stay on!

The fiddly little feckers keep curling up at the end of my middle nails, and my two little finger ones disappeared after I finished my core/pelvic floor exercises on the end of the bed. I found one on my boob, no idea where the other one went. Gave dh a giggle when he woke up to me crawling around looking for it though.

Any tips? I've seen to use a base and top coat - any recommendations for a decent vegan cruelty free one? Also, should I buff my nails? Or scuff them a bit to add gripability? Nail varnish never lasts more than a day on me without chips so I was hoping these would finally see me with pretty fingernails - and some of them are very pretty, but I'd like them to stay on my pinkies!

Picture doesn't do them justice, they have gold lines on them 😍 [when pic loads]

I had some from Lidl on a whim and they were excellent. £1.99 and they stayed on 2 weeks with a top coat.
I'd love recommendations for similar. I'm not interested in messing with a uv lamp.
I just washed my hands with soap to make sure there was not oil of any type on my nails.

I use lily and fox exclusively. Im not 100% what you're doing, but if they get warm/wet within the first few hours, they just fall off.

Ok so top coat and be careful with them for a few hours after (does that mean I can't wash my hands after a wee?!)
Ive always been shite at nail stuff, even gel nails came off after a few days on some corners so maybe I just have weird nails

Do you wipe your nails with nail varnish remover before you start? It reads like your nails might be a bit greasy/oily and that’s why nothing is adhering properly.

I wear lily and Fox, change every Sunday.

If you have really ridged nails buff them. Wipe with non oily nail varnish remover.

If you use a base coat it has to be THIN. L&F recommended hard as nails in a blog post so I use that. Once used my top coat by accident and they didn't last a day.

Apply nail then top coat, I use the 60 sec one but I doubt it matters so long as you are sealing the sides.

I always do them right before bed so maximum bonding time without water.

I usually reapply top coat midweek. By Sunday they are happy to peel off but I've made them last 2 weeks before.

Thank you both - I'll give them a proper go after cleaning, buffing then varnish remover and invest in a top coat as well.
