I was falling down the Pinterest rabbit hole the other day, and wandered into pins and pins describing a new aesthetic - the frazzled English woman and I just thought it was utterly hilarious that this is a style. Think equestrian/country/darl academia style. (I’ve tried to upload screenshots from Pinterest but the app isn’t letting me).
I asked ChatGPT to summarise the style and it told me:

so today, this fazzled Englishwoman is mom jeans from Tesco, and old event t-shirt, white fox hoody, cashmere-blend socks from primari and mini Ugg boots, with my Uniqlo mini round bag (complete with matching labubu) and unwashed messy-bun hair.

I immediately thought of the Diary of a Provincial Lady - but she is definitely not graceful, perpetually a bit out of date fashion-wise and having to pawn great aunt's diamond ring to pay for her permanent wave.

That's almost me, I even just acquired a longed for khaki trench coat from a charity shop the other day.
I very much approve of the cigarette and books, but the tartan can fuck off. Apologies to the Scots but I'm never wearing tartan!
