Face wash/makeup remover that can be washed off

Is there such a thing as a face wash/makeup remover that can be simply washed off and doesn't need to removed with a cloth or cotton wool? just simply rinse off?
I no longer want to use the reusable ones as they never really get clean even in the washing machine and just don't like the sensation of dragging anything on my face.

Really hoping there's something out there.

Bar soap and water.
Best to use your hands to rub, at least for mascara, but you don't need to use a cloth.

Urgh not soap.

Have you used a cleansing balm? I wash that off with face wash

PinkPonyClubb · 05/10/2025 21:59

I use this every night, gets Estée Lauder double wear, the mascara and setting spray off with ease. I stumbled across it by accident in all honesty but it’s brilliant and my skin feels so soft!

Another vote for simple face wash, but I use the green one which I think is the moisturising one.

RangiroaDive · 05/10/2025 22:11

The ordinary squalene cleanser

ThePoshUns · 05/10/2025 22:18

Cerave cleanser I just wash off

I use olive oil soap in the shower for my body and my skin - easy, natural, effective, cheap, sustainable

I have the simple oil cleanser that you massage on then emulsify with water and rinse off, i use that then use a foaming face wash.

I've recently started using The Inkey List rub in and wash off cleanser. It's quite nice and seems to remove my eye make up too without having to drag a cloth over.

I use one from Lush called Aqua Marina. It's my favourite from loads I've tried and it leaves my skin feeling really soft. I don't know how good it is for removing makeup though very helpful

Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Ageing Melting Cleanser.

Wonderful stuff that I discovered in Sephora US many years ago and have used it ever since. It smells amazing. It goes on as a balm but then you wet your face and it turns into more of a milk which you wash off. No cloths, cotton wool etc required.

Eborian centella cleansing oil - removes all make up - washes off leaving sling soft and supple - not oily

I use this one! Amazing. Or The Ordinary face wash.

Serenity45 · 07/10/2025 14:42

Another vote for CeraVe. I've got dry sensitive skin and it's great including removing waterproof mascara which I didn't expect! This is the one I use:

Cleanser

I do like the Elemis pro collagen marine cleanser and Clinique All About Clean (dry skin one) too, but they're much more expensive and not better enough than the CeraVe to justify the price difference (for me)

Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel is a long time favourite of mine and I’ve tried many.

Nitgel · 07/10/2025 21:34

The neals yard frankincense wash is good too and the rose face wash. But they go quickly

Pai LightWork Cleansing Oil

Washes off and as it;s an oil it takes off make-up .

I use it travelling (mini bottle)

FriendlyJoe · 12/10/2025 20:04

Hot water and then serum after

GAJLY · 12/10/2025 20:52

I use a baby wipe then wash my face with dove soap.

MagicLoop · 12/10/2025 21:08

I like a cleanser with a lotion/milk consistency. There are lots available, but you can get some big pump bottles of really nice branded ones in TKMaxx. They last for ages. I have a lovely French one (smells of orange flowers) at the moment. It's light enough to just rinse off, but I usually double-cleanse and use a gentle face wash afterwards.

FusionChefGeoff · 12/10/2025 21:17

Use a hot steamy flannel?? I bought 5 and change every couple of days - I find it very soothing.

BankfieldForever · 13/10/2025 04:08

Another vote for Pai Light Work. An emulsifying oil that just rinses off, taking everything with it.
