What would you wear with this skirt?

Tried it with chunky sweater, black tights and both ankle and knee boots, and I like it, but I feel like I'm replicating an outfit I wore when I was 6.

Ooh, I love that. But I’d go knee high boots, which you don’t like? With a fitted top, or jumper and a chunky scarf, I think it would look great. Or maybe a barn jacket and chunky flat boots.

If you want to wear boots, ankle height or even shoe boots. Otherwise flat pumps, flat lace-ups; derbies or brogues, loafers, all of which can have a chunky sole is that's what you like. Also, maybe match the colour of the shoe to the tights, or else pick out one of the darker colours of the skirt. Please don't wear with black, go tonal it will look more modern

Edited to add yes to a barn jacket or something similar. Even better if the jacket is the same length as the skirt or even a few inches longer

But knee boots keep you warm!

Over trousers or jeans? I saw a woman the other day wearing similar short kilt over jeans with a sweater, looked v cool.

I don't think it's anything like a school skirt! It reminds me of a 90s Clueless skirt but with a modorn take.

No doubt you've seen it on Net a Porter styled with a black leather jacket and suede shoes? Lucky you, having a Loewe skirt - love the mohair fabric.

@DaphneduM Yes, that's where I ordered it from. That look just isn't me. And her bare legs look great, but mine are not going to be nearly so decorative, particularly around November.

Alas, I wish I didn't hate brogues so much! I do like knee boots, though (ducking). Glad to see them making a comeback, although not with this skirt, I'm afraid.

I like your idea of knee high boots with maybe tonal tights. Or apparently over the knee boots are also a possibility this autumn/winter? A suede short casual jacket in an autumnal colour would complement the fabric of your skirt too I think. It would be a lovely contrast of textures and materials.

Slightly off the subject, but I also love the Loewe short jacket in this fabric (obviously not to wear with the skirt!!!). So beautiful. I see they also do a long coat which is a bit overpowering in my opinion, unless you happen to be extremely tall!!!

I found something very similar to the jacket - but without the scarf - in autumnal colours which I'm very pleased with. I'll wear it with either wide leg heavy weight dark denim jeans, similar shape cords, or leather trousers or a leather skirt and boots.

Black polo neck and docs?

That jacket is gorgeous, but I know I'm not tall enough to pull it off with any panache. Also, the sleeves look like they'd be annoying - more for show than wearability, I always seem to manage to be in danger of garrotting myself with scarves... And I agree, the long coat doesn't look nearly as nice.

@Britpopbaby That's what I thought, but the look just ends up being too reminiscent of my childhood photos (minus the docs).

To those asking about what’s so bad about knee boots, it’s not knee boots per se, it’s about knee boots and what length the skirt they are being worn with. So, knee boots with a below the knee boot (at least several inches below) or a mid/ankle length skirt, all good. But knee boots with a shorter skirt so there’s an expense of thigh/tights. No. Dreadful. Dated. Basic.
Short skirt + knee high boots = skin sandwich. No-one wants a skin sandwich.

@user464632168 If it’s a Loewe skirt, contact Loewe for some styling advice, ditto whomever you purchased it from. That’s what their customer service/styling team is for. Am not a fan of the skirt, but would happily wear the fabric/print if it came as a huge blanket scarf.

Oversized jumper, thick woolly tights and long dark brown boots. Probably a scarf and coat too and it'd make a lovely winter outfit
