Help me find a warm dress for a wedding

My husband has suddenly announced to me that we’re off to the wedding of one of his work colleagues this weekend (don’t ask!)
The wedding is in a beautiful venue, but I always find the venue so cold (and damp!)

I really really need your help in finding a warm dress that’s suitable. The dress code says smart(ish) 🤷‍♀️
I love bright colours, and ideally I’d like something I can wear again!

Thanks guys

£50 or £500?

EnfysDilys · 29/09/2025 20:06

I would say £150 tops - good question!

This might be rather fine. (Comes in other, brighter colours but these photos are suitably formal.)

Kemi Telford dress

(Although, tbh, the way to be warm at such an event involves thermals and a big furry jacket …)

I like all the velvet suggestions.

I wore a velvet suit during a freezing cold winter wedding, I felt comfortable and warm the whole day.

Oh you are utterly brilliant all of you! Thank you so much, I LOVE the colours, and I can wear any of these again and again! Now to choose 😍

Edited

thats beautiful dress - but what on earth is going on with the tights!

ColdHenrietta · 21/11/2025 06:50

I imagine the tights are not compulsory if one buys the dress?
