M&S has nice cashmere. One of the best I've tried came from Cos.

M&S has nice cashmere. One of the best I've tried came from Cos.

I gave my M&S cashmere jumpers ( bough in the sales) away as they just don’t work for my body type ( too long) and have a COS one from a charity shop that I love!

I bought a couple of designer pieces on Vinted, which pale in comparison to my COS cashmere.

Purplecatshopaholic · 28/09/2025 16:48

I rate M&S cashmere. I have a couple of lovely little cardigans for work.

Britpopbaby · 28/09/2025 16:49

I’m asking because I would like to look out for brands that do good cashmere when I’m charity shopping.

Uniqlo is good in my opinion.

MaggieBsBoat · 28/09/2025 16:50

I’ve bought a few cashmere cardigans from John Lewis and they are lovely. I live in them.

ThesophisticatedJY · 28/09/2025 17:11

I like HUSH cashmere , have several pieces some a few years old . Looked after properly and stored in bags , recommended .

Agree with this. I was given one as a gift and loved it. I cried when I accidentally shrunk it in the wash.

COS. Every single time. And their merino. I've got a merino/silk dress from 2013 which is absolutely immaculate.

I bought one of the dipped hem cashmere jumpers in 2023 and I've worn it hundreds of times. Yes it was £250, but worth every penny.

mamaison · 28/09/2025 17:32

I don’t find it’s consistent. One year I bought a jumper and joggers from White Company and same again from M&S. M&S jumper wore much better but the joggers were so inferior compared to the White Company ones.

I have been out looking this year and did not find the Uniqlo felt soft enough. I got a super soft one from John Lewis but cannot comment yet on how it will wear.

midlifeattheoasis · 28/09/2025 20:23

Uniqlo for me. I’ve got three cashmere roll neck jumpers. The first one I bought 5 years ago and the other 2 I’ve had for 3 years, and they are amazing. They never bobble or lose their shape and are such good value

scaredfriend · 28/09/2025 20:29

F&F (Tesco) is lovely. Nice and thick and washes brilliantly.

I had one that I loved but it didn't last long as got a hole in one of the elbows.

I love cashmere, once you've had some cashmere, or even merino wool jumpers, in the winter, you realise that all the manmade jumpers in the shops are bloody awful at keeping you nicely warm. They are either not warm enough or they make you sweat.

I bloody love a cashmere jumper and think they are worth the extra money.

SoftPillow · 28/09/2025 20:36

I rate Whistles as having a slightly more modern style of cashmere that is of a high quality. I wear theirs the most and get compliments on it.

Also John Lewis and Hush.

pancakestastelikecrepe · 28/09/2025 20:47

La Redoute or M&S for me

Merrilydancing · 28/09/2025 22:18

Uniqlo ones really hold their shape and last well.

Mistyglade · 28/09/2025 22:24

My M&S navy cashmere jumper has bobbled after only a few months. I’ve sworn of buying there again the quality of everything I’ve bought in the past few years has been terrible.

triggers34 · 28/09/2025 23:22

I really rate my new Uniqlo cashmere cardigan which was from a charity shop, soft warm and not bobbly . A brand Of jumper I’ve come across in charity shops a couple of times is Corgi hand made in wales, last week I decided to hunt for another on Vinted , found one for £8 picked it up yesterday (seller had listed it as wool) it’s Cashmere ! Retails for over £400! So look for that brand amazing quality!

Cantonet · 29/09/2025 10:47

Cos is consistently rated the Best for the cost.
M&S cashmere is pretty thin these days but I like the crew neck cardigans & buy them new off eBay.
All Cashmere bobbles. Even expensive Cashmere but maybe just a little less than the cheaper version. Just buy a debobbler. They work really well.
Get your cashmere repaired if you develop holes. Don't throw it away.
Our local tailor re-stitches seams for me & does invisable repairs . Or alternatively you can send them away for repair.

Koulibiak · 29/09/2025 10:52

I have two cashmere jumpers from Boden, both bought in the sales (one was under £65, incredible value), they are super comfy and I get compliments whenever I wear them.

I prefer John Lewis cashmere to M&S.

Agreed that all cashmere bobbles. A £10 electric debobbler works wonders.

applegingermint · 29/09/2025 10:58

I also try to minimise laundering of cashmere by wearing a very thin long sleeve top underneath. I think this helps prolong the life.
