I didn’t have long enough hair to wax so shaved and forgot why I’d started waxing. It’s so so itchy and red now. What will soothe it that I might have in the house ?

Sudocrem might help?

tfu · 23/09/2025 22:53

Second sudocream

TheBirdintheCave · 23/09/2025 23:42

I feel like the last time this happened the only thing I had to hand was aloe vera gel so I dabbed some of that on and it helped.

Pollypolls · 25/09/2025 04:27

Good old sudo! I’ll dig some out. Was on yesterday but itching again now.

Vaseline works for me.

TwinklyNight · 25/09/2025 04:53

I second aloe vera gel.

StarlightLady · 25/09/2025 07:35

Another Sudo vote. You can also buy tiny handbag size versions now.

Plus when showering wash your underarms with hair conditioner.

Some people have ultra sensitive skin and that alone can cause the burn, but it can also be caused by an old blunt razor.

I use Savlon Advanced Healing Gel. Wonderful stuff. It stings a little when you first put it on but it works so quickly.

StrongLikeMamma · 25/09/2025 08:20

Sudo

Chriskeela · 25/09/2025 08:22

I use a dab of coconut oil - and have a day off from deodorant after I shave.

NeedWineNow · 25/09/2025 09:43

Sudocrem, Aloe Vera gel or Lavender gel (I get mine from SBC).

Pollypolls · 25/09/2025 21:28

I fear I’d stink if I went without deodorant

I use Savlon for this and it always works a treat

@Pollypolls When I had painful reaction to a new deodorant my GP advised washing with a gentle soap and then using baby powder for a few days. Might help in your case?

Yep, another vote for Savlon!

You haven’t been using the recalled Mitchum brand have you?

Shoemadlady · 25/09/2025 22:56

Bepanthen

Frannieisnthappy · 25/09/2025 23:12

This isnt related to the Mitchum deodorant that has now been recalled?

There is another thread on it but I thought I had shaving burn but turned out I was using one of the recalled Mitchum roll-ons.

CharlieKirkRIP · 26/09/2025 00:02

Hydrocortisone cream/bite cream.

Sudocrem burns my skin!

I was wondering that too!

Coconut oil for me ...

Sunshineandrainbows23 · 26/09/2025 02:46

Ps. Not tried it but I've seen bicarbonate of soda recommended as a deodorant. Maybe while it is so sore?
