Using Plantur 39 Brown shampoo - hair is turning orange

After seeing recommendations here, I decided to try Plantur 39 Brown Shampoo to help cover my greys. I was getting tired of the time and cost of having to dye my hair every few weeks. At first, it was amazing—I loved the rich brown shade and even got lots of compliments.
But now, just two weeks in, my hair has started turning an orangey-yellow. And not a subtle tint either—it’s a bright, brassy shade. I know Halloween’s around the corner, but this definitely isn’t the look I was going for!
So, do I:
a) Keep using the Plantur and hope it settles down?
b) Switch back to a normal shampoo and pray this isn’t permanent?
Would love to hear your experiences or any advice.
Thanks!

How much grey have you got op?

Plantur 39 is supposed to help conceal greys rather than colour them - so blending in with your natural colour not dyeing them completely.

I've used the clairol shampoo and it turns my greys blonde around my face which I really like - I still have a lot of my natural colour.

Yes, is it depositing colour to the greys and so the greys are turning orange or is it the whole lot?

Its the whole head more so on the top of the head where I shampoo first. I started by putting it on dry for 5 mins then shampooing it off. Then I just started getting it first. I could try the original way as that gave a lovely colour at first. I dont have many greys, prob 10% or so. They are just all at the front by my face so noticeable.

How much are you using if you’re putting it on dry? Perhaps you’re using too much? I use about a 50p size dollop and my hair is shoulder length, it just looks like blonde baby lights in my brown hair?

I've been using Plantur 39 for years. It's marvellous stuff but it can get brassy / orangey if you overdo it. You could try using a normal shampoo for a few days, then start again with the Plantur, but only apply a small amount to wet hair, and only leave for 2-3 minutes.

I’ve just started with Plantur 39 (dark brown hair with a bit of grey, most noticeable at the temples). I bought the conditioner too and used it the first time but it seemed to leave my hair very dry, almost like I hadn’t used conditioner?

Do others use the Plantur conditioner or just a normal one?

Also I’ve used it three times now and not seeing much change in the greys. How long did others find it takes to work?

This could be caused by your natural hair color pigment as it isn't a hair color but only help to cover the grey.I advise to color you hair at list every 2 months

I’ve been experimenting with this since new year…8 washes in and my grays are definitely better concealed and the whiter strands look more blonde. The first wash I didn’t notice a thing but over the 8 washes am pretty pleased with how it’s gone.

OP did you ever get any luck getting back to what you wanted it to look like? I think it does leave my hair a bit dry but I use leave in conditioner now and that helps a lot. Overall am really pleased with the coverage. I’m just nervous it won’t wash fully out and I’m too scared to try now as I like the colour it has achieved

I find that I have to start washing my hair from the back and give the top a quick run through to avoid the orange at the top
