How to accessorise royal blue mini dress?

The colour and cut is quite striking. 2/3 tight sleeve with flared cuff. Simple neckline and shift shape.

What style and colour tights to wear - flesh, sheer black, sheer navy?

It’s for stand up evening event - also what type and colour shoes?

I am 5,3’ - in proportion but can’t risk looking any shorter than I am.

Following as I have similar. Planning leopard low heels with very sheer black tights.

I don’t have a link or picture - but it is very similar to this dress - except the flared cuff is shorter, it’s not polo-neck, and not body con - more shift. Colour is cobalt / royal blue:

You could wear it like the model in the picture or change out the statement necklace for earrings. Black tights and black boots with a lower heel.

I am worried about chopping up my short legs - I think flesh coloured tights would look the most flattering / lengthening but would feel less exposed in opaque - but I think the opaque make a sudden contrast cutting in half and would make legs look heavy - also I think black opaque tights will take away from the lovely cobalt blue.

Maybe sheer tights in navy or black is the way forward - will buy a few pairs to try on - then it leaves an issue what shoes? Maybe a high Mary Jane - but I don’t want to look like I am in 60/70s fancy dress. What a palava
