Autumn/winter capsule wardrobe for short/petite mum

Hi all, I feel like since becoming a mum, I've completely lost all sense of style.

I work 3 days a week and I am not allowed to wear my uniform outside of work so usually go into work in gym type wear, leggings, hoody etc. Which is funny, as I have not stepped foot in a gym in years, however it's just easy, throw on clothes to travel to work and back.

I'm short (5'1, size 8 with not much shape to me!) and I really want to put together a capsule wardrobe for autumn/winter but I have no idea where to start. I don't really wear patterns but don't mind bright colours, however as I am getting older, I tend to stick to more neutrals for every day wear although I do love pale pinks, pale blues and plum coloured clothes. Shoes wise I tend to live in trainers and DM boots in the winter. I only wear heals if I go for an evening out and would not wear them as an every day footwear. I do wear jeans and obviously leggings as I've mentioned but I'd be open to other types of trousers if the fit was right. I will wear dresses with tights during winter but only of a weekend if going out for lunch or something.

I have a tendency to buy clothes that don't really go together so I would really love some suggestions 🙂
