Any advice for a keave in conditioner?

That doesn’t make hair feel heavy/needing a wash?

Due to mobility issues, I can’t wash my hair more than once a week if that. I found a shampoo that works well for me but I still need a conditioner to use after!

Any idea?

I've found skipping the rinse out conditioner and using a leave in conditioner and heat protection spray easier. A little serum once straightened for shine. I use Tresseme spray and Aussie serum.

MaurineWayBack · 16/09/2025 19:24

Is the Tresseme spray quite oily?
I found most of them to be very greasy….

I use the palmers leave in conditioner spray. Doesn’t make my hair greasy and feels really lightweight

MaurineWayBack · 16/09/2025 19:29

@MaurineWayBack yes it is. Best one I have found.
I spray it on and the put my hair into a microfibre wrap before drying it. Feels so much better than any other one I have used

buffyfaithfredwesley · 16/09/2025 20:06

Giovanni direct leave in is v lightweight

MaurineWayBack · 16/09/2025 20:11

Ive used milkshake leave in conditioner and also banana butter (can't remember who makes that, umberto ginanni maybe?). Both are nice and non greasy but the milkshake is the lighter of the 2 so I prefer that in the UK, prefer banana butter in more humid places as its a bit denser so tames my frizzy hair better.

The milkshake smells lovely too.

Yes, I use it and really like it. A little goes a long way. I have long hair and I'm still on my first bottle this year.

I also use the palmers coconut one , it’s often on offer in Superdrug & sometimes the supermarkets ( Asda , Tesco ) Tbh that’s quite expensive on amazon x

Another recommendation for Milkshake Incredible Milk 12-1 leave in conditioner. Was recommended by a new hairdresser to use instead of rinse out after having highlights and it’s brilliant. No heaviness or oily hair after a day or two and it’s cut my shower time so win win

wwyd2021medicine · 17/09/2025 09:09

I like the Milkshake one too

I have OUAI leave in conditioner just for holidays and it is excellent

MaurineWayBack · 17/09/2025 09:50

@wwyd2021medicine why are you using OUAI during the hols in particular? Is it just an issue with size?

wwyd2021medicine · 17/09/2025 10:10

Because it is so expensive. I used it for the first time after swimming at a Lido and despite the chlorine, my hair was fine afterwards with no other conditioner.

The milk shake one and 'it's a 10' one, I have only used at home after using a normal conditioner already. I know that the OUAI one is enough on its own.
