Hi all,
I’m going to a wedding in late October and have bought this dress:

Thinking maybe gold shoes, but gold shoes and gold bag seems too much. Was considering a green fascinator but to be honest they’re not really my thing. What would you wear?

Khaki Plisse Tilly Dress

Designed in-house, our bestselling metallic fleck print featuring gold brushstrokes that are highlighted by the sunlight. A fitted skirt with a slightly more voluminous top, it gives the most perfect shape for vacations, office parties or summer weddin...

Presumably it’s not a traditional church / country house / hotel / city registry office UK wedding?

(I ask because you’ve chosen a very summer-y dress that won’t easily adapt to autumn.)

opencecilgee · 13/09/2025 20:28

What sort of jacket do you plan to wear?

rosiebl · 13/09/2025 20:35

I would style this with tan shoes and tan bag to make it more autumn feel. Wouldn't bother with any hat or head piece as it will be impossible to get a colour match and the dress is very busy.

It’s bloody gorgeous!

if you want a headpiece I would go for a gold head band instead -a good hairdresser would work around it then. I would go gold sandals but like thin strappy barley there ones. then chunky earrings and your sorted

That’s a lovely dress! I would wear gold or nude heels with it and a light coloured linen oversized blazer.

Edited

It’s a UK wedding in a hotel, the ceremony room is tiny and carpeted rather than large and airy. Do you think it looks too summery?

Wasn’t planning on a jacket for the same reason- was just going to wear one to travel and then dump in my room on arrival- but really like the blazer suggestion from another poster

Ah a head band is a fab idea! I was planning on hair up so that sounds perfect. Thank you

These days I wouldn’t wear any sort of headpiece to a wedding unless I was in the bridal party, but maybe they’re coming back? I think tan is a good call.

That's amazing! Love it
