Valerie Tribes - anybody else think she's very stylish?

So I've discovered Valerie Tribes and I love her look and style and think (despite the fact I'm neither Parisian, a size 6 or weatlhy) that I can base my wardrobe on hers. In fact she buys a lot of Zara and other high street stuff, but does of course mix it with Chanel and Prada and the like. I might not be able to do that....

Does anyone else like her? And if so which other stylish people do you follow on Instagram or the like. (I actually discovered her first on Pinterest when, as suggested in another thread, I was creating a board of looks I like - in order to discover my style. )

Have t heard of her before but she's not my age range. She looks nice but nothing groundbreaking, just jeans and a top.

I don't like insta anymore (too homogeneous & too much sponsored content) but I love Lauren Santo Domingo's style.

Haven't heard of her, had a quick look. Nice to see someone older. I also like Linda Wright, a very chic American in Paris. Anouk Yve also impossibly stylish.

She is my age range @bapples1 and I like seeing older women talking about their clothes. I agree there's too much homogeneity among the influencers which is why I like her.

Never heard of her, but unless she has any recommendations from Tu or George, I probably wouldn't be interested.

She is in my age bracket. Just had a scroll through her Instagram account. She mostly just seems to wear shorts/jeans and a shirt and sashay around in an 'I'm Parisian and skinny' kind of way tbh. I'm no fashionista, but I didn't find her clothes very inspiring at all. I prefer thesilverkat.

@HelenHywater this comment says a lot about the world you live in. Zara may be ‘high street’ but it’s only in well to do high streets and it is way more expensive than George, Matalan, Shein etc. For most people (though probably not on MN) the cost of living crisis is real.

@Sarover yes I'm lucky that I consider Zara affordable. I do know all too well about the cost of living crisis, having lost my job last year and worked with people in poverty prior to that. I'm in no means in the wealthy bracket and like to think about clothes and styling but I don't buy much.

I like her too, I've been following her for years. I absolutely hate influencers but she's a proper journalist so doesn't come into that category IMO.

I tend to follow other fashion journalists/stylists and designers, less likely to do #ad.

My age range but not really my style. Just looks like your average, safe, run of the mill outfits.
She looks nice enough though. (TBH I tend to admire people who I wish I were brave enough to dress like!)😄

I like her. She’s elegant but not stuffy.

Thank you @JaneJeffer , but I'm not a huge fan of Emma Hill. Her clothes just seem a bit boring to me - all the Arket and Cos stuff. Valerie Tribes seems much more stylish. Most of my pinterest pins are italian stylists - like Renata Molho and Anna Gimeno Brughada who are both older Italian stylist types. I like them too! I basically want to dress like an Italian stylist or a French fashion journalist.

Anyway, sheeplike I bought a Zara jumper that Valerie T. bought and got several compliments on it when I wore it.

I find the way she stands with her knees bent really annoying. Who stands like that?!

@HelenHywater it’s the same type of blazer and jeans thing and I don’t see how the person wearing them being French makes any difference to how stylish or not they are

It's all the barrel jeans I think! I don't suit barrel jeans.

Yes I can see that - I think she likes exaggerating her thin limbs. (In one of her recent posts she bemoaned her holiday weight gain, which was completely invisible). I find all those influencers who sit drinking a coffee with one leg up on the chair or bench quite annoying too.

Very stylish and all that… but sadly if I wear trousers and a blazer I look like Angela Merkel rather than a chic Parisienne ☹️
