What are the small fat peeps wearing this autumn

i work from home, so spend most of the working week in joggers or leggings.

I want to look nice at the weekend; most weekends are spent taking my 9 year old places, going for lunches, coffees, walking the dog, cinema, but I have no idea what to wear as most of my wardrobe is a wee bit dated.

im small in height (5ft 2) ; 44 and a size 18c can anyone recommend clothes that will make me look nice?

Do you feel you could look nice in leggings or joggers? The thicker uncuffed joggers look good with a similar top and trainers, good Sunday morning style imo. I like thick leggings dressed in quite an equestrian style with fitted top or jacket and knee length boots. This works well for dog walking but it's not most people's taste.

Most I know go for well fitted jeans or cords with a good quality jumper. Loose floor length jeans are everywhere but they're impractical in the wet. Skinny seem to be making a come back. I think you can get away with anything right now.

Coloured trainers or flat boots. Maybe sort this first then you can figure out your best jeans.

nah. After wearing joggers and leggings all week, I want to be a wee bit smarter at the weekend.

good call with the coloured trainers! I’m really liking the different colours adidas trainers that are about these days.

i love the wider leg jeans, but im in Scotland, so they’ll probably end up soaking at the bottom From trailing along the ground

I don't have a dog to walk so some of these ideas might not be practical, but I'm a similar height and size to you and I've recently bought:

Wide leg, high rise jersey trousers from M&S (bargain £19.50, plenty BNWT on vinted too) to be worn with slash neck tshirts (the wider neck is really flattering) and cardigans or cropped jackets and trainers

Denim midi dress from Brakeburn, fitted top and a more loosely fitting skirt to be worn with knee high boots I got on Vinted

Jersey midi dress, again worn with the boots

And my wildcard is a pleated skirt in a sort of slightly glittery grey colour which I plan to dress down with a pale grey jumper and the boots.

A pair of knee high boots would be a good investment for winter. They make dresses wearable and are much better than the soggy trousers legs flapping round your ankles feeling which always make me feel cold and miserable.

Loving these ideas!
