"Cowboy" Boots - mid calf - how would you wear them?

I've been wanting a part of cowboy style boots for years. Last year I bought some off Vinted but they aren't very good fit for me.

I love love love these boots but apart from with boot cut jeans (are we back there) I don't know how I would wear them. No point in buying them without any idea about how I would wear them and what with, but I am very close to doing it. Would they go with skirts & dresses or am I mad?

Would ankle cowboy style boots be more useful/wearable?

Like many Mumsnetters, I've lost a lot of weight over the last year so I am having to buy a whole new wardrobe. Not intenting to go full on "country" by any means, but there is scope to get a few new pieces.

I'm 5'8, size 12/14, would be just able to manage this heel (I don't usually wear heels but I do like boots with a bit of solid "lift")

I know this brand and have a few shoes/sandals from them. So while they are ££££ the quality is excellent & I know I'll be wearing them for many years to come.

I don't understand them myself. I want to like them, but they only seem to look nice 0n Kate Moss with a rara skirt in about 2002

Definitely skirts. Mini, knee length, below the knee. Denim, tweed, chunky cord. Opaque tights.

thank you - I usually wear mid calf skirts which I can't visualise with the boots, but I could go knee lenght no problem and maybe even above the knee with tights.

It's a lot to work out

I wear them with a mini skirt (checked or cord) but only if it’s not too cold to also wear flesh coloured tights because my legs are whiter than white!

Also under bootcut jeans for a smart casual look- this shape has always suited me and I missed it when the only available jean was a skinny.

I’m trying to make it work with a mid calf skirt for work but haven’t got quite the right outfit yet!

hmmm I'm never going to wear a mini skirt & as much as I loved loved loved my bootcuts back in the day I'm not sure I want to go back there now.

Forgot to say I'm 57.
