Hello. I'd really appreciate some help finding a dress to wear to my son's baptism. I'm an apple shape with dark hair and pale skin

Thank you. That's a good point. It will be colder next month.

The burgundy is nicer and with tights and a thermal vest (or a slip dress) underneath I think the dress will be warm enough.

Do people really not think about season / weather / likely temperature when choosing clothes for a specific event?

I often wonder this as well. Churches are not the warmest places to be. I also feel the cold easily and always wear layers.
