I'm taking DP out for a surprise meal on Saturday. Our first proper romantic night out since DD was born nearly a year ago. I'm having the predictable wardrobe crisis. I'd like to get a little bit dressed up but resent throwing money at an outfit I may only wear once (we don't get out much).

Details? I've got very large bosoms and a saggy belly but generally slim-ish. I could probably get away with good jeans and a nice top but I'm trying to get up the courage to get my legs out. I'd like to spend no more than £50 if it's an outfit I won't wear much. I won't have any shoes to match it either. I know popular myth has it that all woman now have a separate room devoted to their shoe collection but I have fewer than 10 and most of those have seen better days.

I'd just like to look and feel a little bit sexy for once. I'll be devastated if I pay for meal and he won't put out.

HEEEEEEEEELP ME!

what size are you? How tall? Nice shoulders and arms?

JackieNo · 01/06/2008 21:34

And what shoes do you already have that you could wear?

fishie · 01/06/2008 21:38

what colours do you like? hair?

JackieNo · 01/06/2008 21:40

Something like this could work - enough in the shoulder area so you can wear a bra (I assume from your description you're going to need to), and wrap good for tummy issues. Or this which should just skim over the tummy.

JackieNo · 01/06/2008 21:41

A bit over budget, but gorgeous.

Pannacotta · 01/06/2008 21:43

JackieNo that dress is GORGEOUS!
Looks perfect for the OP's brief and lovely colour...

janeite · 01/06/2008 21:44

Tell us about shoes and we can work round that! I doubt you'll be able to get both the new outfit AND new shoes. Have you got a really lovely pair of dark jeans already? Otherwise I'd suggest going for a skirt and a top, as you're likely to get more wear out of them than you would a dress.

Colouring? Do you mind arms on show or not?

fishie · 01/06/2008 21:44

sold out online but very flattering if the colours are you. wish i'd seen it.

JackieNo · 01/06/2008 21:44

A bit more sedate but the band just under the bust should be flattering.
Another wrap style - subtly sexy.

janeite · 01/06/2008 21:46

Oh and what shops do you have access to/usually like?
