Vaseline. It’s the ultimate multi purpose product that I couldn’t live without! I’ve been using it for over 50 years every day!

  1. A tiny amount rubbed into nails makes nails strong and supple.
  2. A tiny amount put on eyelashes for plentiful and strong eyelashes.
  3. Worn over a matte lipstick or lip stain gives a long lasting natural shine.
  4. Around eyes and lips seals in creams and serums, I have had great success in keeping wrinkles at bay with Vaseline.
  5. Keeps feet and back of ankles smooth and prevents dry skin.
  6. Tiny amount on fingers and run through the ends of hair prevents flyaways.
  7. Inside the nose to prevent skin cracking in cold weather.
  8. apply to wrists and then spray perfume makes the fragrance last longer.
  9. After shaving ‘down there’ it protects skin from shaving rash and ingrowing hairs.
  10. I sometimes dab a bit on the top of my cheekbones to give a natural highlight.

@FuckOffCleanShirt what do you find that helpful for?

Mine is Nivea lotion in the navy blue bottle and white top. I use it as a cleanser

I bloody love Vaseline.

It's such a staple in my life that I didn't really consider it, TBH. But I totally agree with you.

In general I use it twice a week before bed. I find it really exfoliates my skin well and gives me a lovely glow that lasts a good few days.

I wasn't sure if I was imagining it but the other morning DP asked me if I'd gone to bed in make-up 😊

@FuckOffCleanShirt do you know whether that product can be used alongside retinol?

The things that I buy on repeat are:
Superdrug hot cloth cleanser
Medik8 vitamin C serum
Rare beauty liquid blush
CCS foot cream

Bit of a random mix there but everything else I’m not really loyal to and buy different products and brands when they run out.

I believe you can. But I'd use them on alternate days because they both have active ingredients which could cause irritation if they're used together.

Charlotte Tilbury airbrush setting spray (original)
I saw some friends recently who insisted that whatever I was doing to my skin I should keep doing it. I was perplexed at the time but now I have put it down to this.

Interesting - I've always just used whichever setting spray is on offer but I'll give this one a go once I run out.

Sally Hanson nail strengthener
(Purple bottle)

My nails are awful-they get to a certain length before snapping, peeling or flaking

I bought some in Asda about 5 weeks ago on a whim and my nails are still trying their hardest to snap off but this stuff seems to be holding them together

I normally use a much cheaper product (superdrugs own brand) so did have to hold my nose a bit at the price (about a tenner) but im really impressed with it

I take it off when it starts to flake off and redo them

Finally,my nails are a lot longer than normal

EveryKneeShallBow · 09/09/2025 13:50

Massive jars of organic coconut oil and castor oil. I use castor oil for all the things pp uses Vaseline for and the coconut oil works great for removing makeup. I let it melt in my hands, smoosh it all over and then wash off with warm/hot water. Also, mix coconut oil with green clay and use as a cleansing mask once a week. I have dry skin naturally and this regime really keeps my face dewy and reduces wrinkles.

CagneyNYPD1 · 09/09/2025 14:15

L’Oréal Revitalift Laser Advanced Anti Aging Serum. Lovely stuff and my skin looks so much better when I use it consistently. I stock up when it’s on offer in Boots on the £10 Tuesday deal.

FuckOffCleanShirt · 09/09/2025 14:37

@CagneyNYPD1 Oh that's interesting - I've heard mixed reviews of this.

Do you use with your normal moisturiser?

Manicurist Active Glow nail polish

Noshadelamp · 09/09/2025 15:27

Ceramides! They made my skin so soft and airbrushed. i have the classic CeraVe moisturising lotion, lasts ages.

I use it as a face serum before moisturiser or on its own, also hand cream and body lotion.

Also Simple micellar water. I get irritated eyes and use it to clean and soothe them as well as the usual makeup remover. I used to clean my dog's eyes and ears with it as well.

Much prefer Simple to the usual Garnier especially as the Garnier big bottle ends up with little floaties before I finish the bottle.

GameOfJones · 09/09/2025 15:54

Can I choose one product per category? 🤣 I'm a repeat purchaser of all of the below:

For makeup it is Rimmel Scandeleyes eyeliner pencil. It lasts really well on my oily, hooded eyelids and has the benefit of being cheap. I much prefer the brown or grey colour to the black.

For body - Champneys Calm Body Balm. Spells like I've been to a spa and the scent lasts for hours on my skin. It is really thick and rich so leaves me smooth as a baby's butt!

Skincare - Nivea Cellular Expert Bakuchiol serum. It's a natural alternative to retinol (which my skin doesn't seem to tolerate)

For hair it is Head and Shoulders Bare. Same anti dandruff properties but no sulfates and minimal ingredients.

By Terry hyaluronic pressed powder. The only setting powder that works for my 54 year old skin

I do use it under moisturiser but I tend to alternate moisturisers. Currently using up the last of my Estee Lauder Revitalising Supreme+ moisturiser from the M&S summer beauty bag. A lovely product but a bit spendy for me. But without fail, the L’Oréal serum works well with a whole range of moisturisers (except the Trinny Bounce Back which tends to pill).

Lighttodark · 09/09/2025 16:09

AHA/BHA and retinoid for keeping skin clear (not on the same night)
dr Sam brightly for brighter glowier skin

Keffert · 09/09/2025 16:33

I can’t think of a single product, but since I started avoiding silicones my skin has been a million times better. I used to use a serum or moisturiser and look dewy and smooth for a couple of days and think it was amazing then break out in spots, get eyelid eczema and rough patches… without silicones I don’t get any of that.

Francestein · 30/10/2025 00:39

I thought I would share a brand new SPF favourite. Dare I say it out loud that it’s even better than the old Numbuzin one? It’s this one

^^giving you an EXTRA discount at www.yesstyle.com/en/home.html! Shop using my Rewards Code: LZSB2S www.yesstyle.com/en/round-lab-camellia-deep-collagen-firming-sun-serum-50ml/info.html/pid.1134196805?rco=LZSB2S&utm_term=LZSB2S&utm_medium=Rewards&mcg=influencer SPF

It’s so light and very gently cooling without feeling minty or chemically. Very, very hydrating in such an unobtrusive way. Perfect under foundation. No pills, not sticky, no scent, natural glowy look. I have ordered two more while it’s on sale.

spikyplanty · 30/10/2025 14:33

Just one is tough but it would have to be Elf Halo Glow.

Francestein · 31/10/2025 01:09

Oh, I forgot a really good one. I have stopped using foundation in favour of Fenty Body Sauce which is an illuminating body foundation. (Really hope it’s still available because it’s no longer at my Sephora.) The lighted shade “Pearl Swirl” is my perfect match and it lasts aaaaaall day and into the evening. (I live in a hot, humid place and nothing lasts!) It’s like a really perfecting, tinted moisturiser. (Not at all sparkly)

GameOfJones · 31/10/2025 06:41

For SPF I swear by L'Oréal Revitalift SPF fluid . It is cheap but goes on really nicely, sits well under makeup and doesn't leave me feeling greasy at all. Because my skin is more oily than dry I use it after my serum in the morning instead of a day cream. I'm completely loyal to it.

Clarins micellar water. It’s the only cleanser I have ever consistently be bothered to use because it’s easy and smells nice. Actually cleansing and
using one of my expensive moisturisers every night has vastly improved my skin!

Squirrelsnut · 31/10/2025 07:25

Aveeno moisturiser (big tube). I use it on hands and face and it leaves a longlasting dewy softness.
