I need help accessorizing this dress

I'm going to a 'rain forest' themed ball next weekend (don't ask!) and after much frustration, managed to find this dress. I have bronze metallic sandals which I feel go well, but I am lost as to (1) bag, and (2) shawl/bolero (something to drape over my shoulders at night).

Thank you for the help!

What about a green pashmina? would go well with colours and rainforest theme?

and a plastic parrot

John Lewis do nice pashminas in all colours.

I'm afraid of being too colorful. It's a black tie event. Already feeling uneasy because the dress doesn't touch the floor.

I would get a clutch bag, there are loads around at the moment in loads of different sizes.

How about a thin knit shrug? Monsoon often have them in a variety of colours.

Nice dress by the way

Beautiful dress.

Shrugs make my tummy look huge (possibly because I still haven't lost all baby tummy) so I try to avoid them.

Escada has a furry bolero which I liked (except the price, which you would not believe!) but I haven't been able to find anything similar elsewhere. To see what I mean, go here, click on Collection >> Cruise 2008 >> picture 72 on page 9.
