What one product makes your hair REALLY shiny?

I have tried various shine sprays and they do nothing. Various hair oils they don’t do much.

I have long ish brunette hair but too much straightening and curlers have made it dull and rubbish.

Is there a hair conditioner or hair mask or hair oil/spray that you swear makes your hair shine???

I have very thick dull hair but since using Tresemme lamellar shine shampoo, Conditioner and leave in spray, my hair is shiny for the first time ever.
I've also had compliments on how nice it looks.

Lee Stafford anti humidity spray - it's amazing stuff. I spray it on lightly and then brush it through.

I use Sam McKnight cream called Happy endings, works well for my fine dull longish blonde hair

Thank you. I bought the Tresseme conditioner today so hopefully will see a difference. I couldn’t find the other ones?

Color Wow Dream Coat Supernatural Spray, L’Oreal Professional Mythic Oil and Philip Kingsley Hair Elasticiser are all great for shine.

Place marking! I also want to know.
the best thing I’ve found for my hair albeit it’s to stop the frizz, was keratin treatment, but it’s expensive 👀

Notmymarmosets · 25/09/2025 20:42

Yes as above. Keratin treatment.

PeonyPatch · 25/09/2025 20:48

Davines Shimmer Spray. I love it and it’s so lightweight too ✨

Paradoxx Growth Conditioner and Redken Frizz dismiss serum.

The tresemme lamellar shine spray has also been good for my frizzy hair. Didn’t know they did shampoo & conditioner too so will try those! The spray is unusual as it doesn’t make my hair greasy like most shine sprays.

I was really pleased with the effect of L’Oreal Wonder Water (the purple one for long, coarse, scruffy hair). I have upgraded shampoo to use the Eleven brand from the hairdresser, but that’s more expensive and has quite similar effect. WW is often on offer in the supermarket.

How much is the keratin treatment does anyone know? Does it work if you hair is coloured?

It’s £££ but my hairdresser introduced me to Alterna hair caviar treatment shots and they are excellent. You can get them cheaper from different beauty retailers.

cor, these are pricey!

I can highly recommend these 2 products — they’ve been absolutely life-changing for my hair! They’re also quite affordable. But only they can be ordered if you live in Europe.

Where are you buying Mythic Oil from please? I thought it got discontinued years ago.

Once a week I wash my hair in Fair Washing up liquid. Really lather it up and massage scalp and hair with it and then rinse off, no conditioner. I have long hair that’s thick and my looks and feels amazing b for a few days afterwards.

Sorry, I didn’t catch up with this - my salon charges 180£ for keratin treatment, it took 4 hours last week when I had it done! You need special shampoo and conditioner too which I buy from Amazon as it’s cheaper than the salon

worriedandunsure2 · 17/11/2025 19:49

John frieda brilliant brunette

CaptainCabinets · 17/11/2025 19:54

Bleach London Hair Elixir is the only thing my hair seems to like!

I have a lot of hair, really thick and wavy (but usually dries frizzy!) and I just can’t get on with heavier products like Mythic Oil, used it a couple of times and it made my hair feel really heavy and greasy 😩

VulnerableSleeve · 17/11/2025 20:01

Definitely keratin treatment, but you can do it at home with a kit from Amazon. You must use salt free shampoo and conditioner to maintain it which you can also buy online.
