Where sells nice cotton dressing gowns?

I’d like a new dressing gown. My current one is a fluffy polyester-tastic thing that I’ve had for years and I want something better.

I'm looking for a cotton (or waffle?) gown in brown or oatmeal, with a thin or medium weight because I overheat easily.

The White Company has some nice ones but they’re a little above my budget. Does anyone have a recommendation for somewhere a little less expensive that is still nice? Thanks in advance!

I buy the linen ones from H&M - I wait til they have the 15% off

I’ve just bought the white company waffle one as I am going into hospital on Friday and needed a lighter one.

if you sign up to marketing texts (which you can cancel) it’s 15% off and it still gave me the free postage so it made it much more reasonable.

it’s a lovely dressing gown I have to say

Have a look at La Redoute, H&M and Zara Home

Cyberjammies have lovely patterned ones

You could look on the sale area on next website because I just looked on there myself for a thicker one and they were all too thin for me.

I got mine from TK Maxx.

Some of the “waffle” ones aren’t 100% cotton so you need to double check.

White Company in the sale

I have a beautiful green vintage M&S (St Michael label) men's 100% cotton dressing gown. I love it and it was a couple of quid from Vinted, there are loads of similar ones on there. I actually bought it for my OH but when it arrived it was too beautiful and I had to keep it for myself.

That's my summer dressing gown and my winter dressing gown is a massive men's again (they're just better, more fabric, longer, cosier, always have pockets) ankle length Calvin Klein navy towelling one that I got from a jumble sale about 15 years ago for 20p. Love a dressing gown, sometimes I wonder why I bother wearing anything else.

Specifically we have a couple of these, very soft and lovely colours

I've had two from here, still going strong. They're Indian handblock printed and I love them. The shop in Norwich is incredible:

@Nocti

There is a lovely selection at

www.kingofcotton.com

I bought a lovely mid-weight cotton waffle one for my husband (similar to what one would find in an upscale hotel spa) and chose to have it embellished with his name.

Thanks so much for the recommendations everyone, really appreciate it. Lots to look through here!

I saw thin waffle pale milky coffee coloured ones in John Lewis the other day. They were so gorgeous I almost bought one then remembered I really don't need another one. About £35 iirc.

Yamamm · 06/09/2025 07:07

Bought mine on Amazon! Cotton jersey with piping, long and stretchy and so comfortable. Was about £20 a few years ago.
