Bum sculpting gym leggings - recommendations pls!

My usual Sweaty Better Power 7/8’s aren’t doing it for me anymore sadly 😭 Caught a flash of myself in the gym mirror yesterday and they seem to flatten and widen my bum. I have been 😄lifting heavy weights so my shape has changed and tbh I feel a bit dated in all the patterned leggings I have. Looking around the gym floor most seem to be wearing plain coloured high waisted ones now?

I’ve looked online at Gymshark, AYBL, Halara but I’m not sure about all these ‘bum scrunch’ styles that are around! I want a bit of lift and sculpting but not to look like I have a permanent wedgie 😂

Can anyone recommend a (squat proof) pair? For reference I’m 5’4”, size 12/14.

Lululemon are the best!

Any particular style please? I find the choice of leggings overwhelming sometimes!

I find it’s always best to go into store to try on for yourself really. The sweaty betty power are usually my go to and I hate those scrunchie bum leggings as well! I’m surprised you haven’t had more responses xx

I've had so many gym leggings, by far the best are Oner Active, wouldn't buy anywhere else now, they don't ride down either.

Yes, maybe everyone here just stays loyal to their SB leggings 😁I was interested to see if anyone had tried any of the online brands that keep cropping up on my Instagram and Amazon.

I’ve been to the Gymshark store on Regent Street but lost the will to live as the music was so loud and lights bright (they even had a running club meeting outside) that I couldn’t face the fitting rooms 😆

Everlast are good for boxing and wrestling in - my daughter uses them

Oh no not a scrunchie bum! The scrunchie bit actually looks like an anus!

It depends on what your training - if you wrestle shorts are best

Ooh they look nice. I like the look of the ‘unified’ styles - subtle definition and no scrunch! Which style do you go for usually?

I mainly lift weights so they need to be supportive and squat proof.

I have both Unified and Effortless, both really comfortable, supporting and squat proof (I mainly lift) I've had the oldest pair about 10 months, they still look like they did new, and have been worn countless times. (I'm not on comission, I promise 😄)

I agree. It’s so gross.

Took me a while to figure out what people were wearing I thought how do people get such defined bums? What’s wrong with mine lol! I wear sweaty Betty 7/8 and get a lot of compliments on them but they are patterned not tan.

SatsumaDog · 04/09/2025 07:08

I mostly wear LNDR which seem to give a decent shape without being rammed up your arse like some. I also have some Oner Active leggings which are non scrunch bum ones (sorry, can’t remember the name). I know what you mean about SB. They used to be my favourite but I gradually went off them after a while.

Those LNDR look good but a bit spenny! Are they worth it?

They are expensive , but I wait until they have a sale. They’re not far off what you would pay for Lululemon and better quality imo. I have had several pairs for 2 years that are still like new, but I always line dry them, never tumble dry.
