My DH dyed my hair and I look like a badger.

A freaking BADGER!

Usually he does a good job, but today he entirely missed a bit at the front in the middle my forehead.

DH is currently watching Clarkson farm where they are discussing badgers. I suspect subliminal messaging may have played a part in the debacle.

I don't want to be a fury. I want to look like normal human. How can I solve this asap?

I think we need to see this to advise.

CalzoneOnLegs · 31/08/2025 20:04

Just mix up small equal quantity of colour and developer with a plastic spoon and apply to the section that's been missed. Easy fix

dontcomeatme · 31/08/2025 20:04

If it's just box dye just wack some on the missed bits. The other dyed parts won't over process if it's just a box colour x

Yeah gonna need a picture OP.

Unfortunately, I don't have any mixture left to touch up. It's a posh box dye (semi permanent) that gets sent to me every 6 weeks (esalon). Can't just pop to the shops to replace. it seems to get darker the longer it's left on. If I redye it, I'm worried it will make all the hair around the non-dyed bit extra dark and I might end up three toned.

Salon then. Meantime use one of those root touch up sprays in the nearest colour or pop into a shop tomorrow and get a semi in the nearest shade you can

Keysfound · 31/08/2025 20:18

A hat? Until an emergency order arrives?

CalzoneOnLegs · 31/08/2025 20:21

Can you
do a one off order to esalon then will have a back up for future

dontcomeatme · 31/08/2025 20:49

Semi permanent can only process so much, it will get to the darkest it can go and then go no further, you could have it on 5 hours, it won't get darker than its darkest. So even if you wanted to cover all your bases and do the full head again, but properly this time x

That is super helpful to know. Thank you.

I actually don't like it for the first 10 days or so as it's too dark. I prefer it washed out a bit. I guess I could redo it then wash with something like head and shoulders to get it to fade quickly?

I think I would prefer it be a bit too dark rather than a huge missing patch 😅 hopefully you can get an emergency order in x

Do you mean a skunk rather than a badger?!?

Hedgehogsahoy · 31/08/2025 21:58

While you’re waiting for the dye to arrive/can’t yet buy some root touch up/need to go out in public, apply some waterproof mascara or eyebrow tint to the missed section or part you hair differently.
People are far less observant than we imagine, especially when we’re self-conscious of something.
My DH dyes my hair too, has been for years, though I’ve been cutting his for aeons. He refuses to go near the barbers!

Hedgehogsahoy · 31/08/2025 22:24

Correction. Eyebrow wax.
