Skincare for knackered mums – what actually works?

I don’t know about anyone else but since having kids my skin feels constantly tired, dull and a bit ‘meh’. I never seem to have the energy for a full routine, so I’ve cut it down to the basics – cleanser, serum and a light moisturiser. It makes me feel a bit more alive but I’m sure there’s more I could be doing. What do you all swear by when you’re exhausted but still want to look half-decent?

Literally the holy grail for me is the BeautyPro under eye mask. Deletes a hangover.

Oh! And for looking alive, mix two drops of TanLuxe into your night moisturiser.

Omg yes, under-eye masks are lifesavers! I’ve been using a cooling eye cream lately and it makes me look like I’ve had more than 3 hours sleep 🙈 Might need to give BeautyPro a try too though!

Pre children I was a retinol, serums and oils kinda girl now I just slather on La Roche Posay cicaplast and a spf and it actually keeps my skin so hydrated and looking pretty healthy and it’s cheap so if I want to add another layer throughout the day to look dewier I don’t have a problem doing it.

Totally with you on the stripped-back routine – I’ve started using a lightweight serum again alongside my SPF and it makes my skin feel fresher without all the faff. Love that you can just add another layer when you want to glow more – that’s the dream!

Retinol has really changed my skin but you do have to commit to a routine with it and introduce it gradually at night and wear spf in the day. Medic8 do a brilliant one.
