Help what does one wear to an autumn evening wedding?

Size 14 in my 50s

Depends on the venue.

What’s your budget? Do you like dresses or jumpsuits? Do you wear heels or would it need to be flats? Do you have any body parts you want to cover (ie must have sleeves/ no bust/ cover legs)?

Small budget, more into trousers . My love of black has been mentioned- and not in a good way!Would want some sleeves and stomach coverage .

Barn type of venue.

I wore a burgundy velvet jumpsuit to my son’s wedding. If you love black but it would not be popular (!) then maybe navy??

Evening wedding in a barn. Size 14, no black, prefer trousers. I have no idea what your perception of a small budget might be. (A specific figure would help!) As you haven’t mentioned your height I guess we can assume ‘average’ and not restricted in what you can buy?

I’d suggest a cord or velvet trouser suit in a seasonal colour. You can get them at any price - last year there was much S&B excitement over something lovely from one of the supermarkets (maybe Sainsbury’s?).

You may have to wait a week or two for the full autumn stock to appear in shops.

The velvet trouser suits were Sainsbury's Tu. Don't know what they looked like in the flesh but looked great on the website. Pricier option is NRBY velvet trouser suits.

I don't like any of the suggestions offered but I generally don't like "occasion wear" bought for one off events and impossible to wear anywhere else, unless it's proper black tie clothing.

The Tu and NRBY velvet can be dressed up, dressed down, worn separately and worn anywhere really if you fancy wearing something nice.

NRBY Velvet suits
