these dresses - nice or nasty?

I am invited to a cocktail party tomorrow with old friends and I want to wear a dress.
problem is I am total apple shape with big knockers and enormous tum, so dresses are a problem. also I am 43 so no spring chicken.

I bought 2 today planning to take one back when I have tried them again in peace without the 'help' of the DCs.

can you give me your opinion on each of these please?

this one fits excellently - fresh and pretty or sad and old?
first

this one fits much less well but is nicer design:
second

But I haven't had a glass of wine tonight, at sense of alst post, but am sure you got the gist!

well I tried them both on for DH (who is useless at this sort of thing)
and when I walked in in No 2 his eyes didn't rise above my collar bone
he did his very best and said both looked great, then told me I had an hourglass figure

so I will stand tall with my best bra on and woe betide anyone who flicks peanuts down my front.

What he was actualy thinkng was 'what great tits'
Poor man trying to put it 'delicately'.

Glad you are going with number 2, flaunt with confidence and you will carry it off.

You have faked tanned haven't you??

thanks for asking Lavenders. I wore No 2, made a grand entrance, got nice comments, then we all spent the evening in the garden so I kept my jacket on!

the trick was choosing the right bra, it made a considerable difference to how much bosom was showing and the fit of the top (sounds obvious, I suppose, but then I am unaccustomed to the whole cleavage thing).

tacky curtains, Kerrymum? - pull yourself together
