Cheap easy help for fine, soft, slightly wavy, flat/flyaway hair

I have such hair; there are pros and cons as with all hair types. I have always combed it frequently to make it look soft and shiny, but not bothered with styling it because products make it look greasy, and the style drops out within a couple of hours, leaving it flat.
Anyway - the other day my new hairdresser told me to completely stop combing or brushing my hair, and the difference is sensational. I use my fingers to untangle once or twice a day. I wash it with a small amount of gentle shampoo (no conditioner), then put a little mouse on and scrunch it while drying, or tie it at the top of my head, and finish it off under the dryer while scrunching again. The result is lovely waves which stay in a nice shape with literally no help except the occasional finger-comb. I'm washing it every third day in this warm humid weather, but suspect it will last longer in cold weather. It never looks greasy or flat any more, and it doesn't fly all over my face in a gentle breeze.
Just thought I would share, and I wonder if anyone else has tried this.

I can recommend bed head by Tigi small talk thickening cream.
I also avoid brushing as I have fine hair, and it’s a tatty mess without out this on. Mousse just makes it crunchy and look greasy for me. What mousse are you using?

I had a wolfcut and the difference is immense! No more greasy hair after 2 days, hair looks thicker, it's manageable - I love it 😊

I might try the Tigi.
I'm using Wella Curls and Waves. Just a small amount and only straight after washing.

Ooh, that's a new one on me. Might try it. I've always admired wolves.

My hair is just over shoulder length. Next time I’ll try it a bit shorter to see if the bounce increases.
