Handbag and laptop bag advice please

Hi all, I'd appreciate advice on a small handbag please. I havent used a handbag for years and have no idea what styles are nice anymore! Probably looking at a crossbody strap. Also need to replace my work rucksack, needs to fit a laptop and various other bits.

I carry mine in a Troop Messenger bag.

Radley do a lot of leather cross body bags, in a variety of colours. I have several of the Pockets ones. Good quality, pretty robust and especially from their sale or outlet centre aren’t stupid money.
