I still like to carry a bag, mostly.
Prefer shoulder or cross body.

What style is currently trendy (but timeless) for a 50 something?

Big, slouchy suede bags seem to be everywhere at the moment.

and the more casual sling/moon type ones seem to be sticking around

The issue with being trendy and timeless is that fashion in terms of bags moves so fast. At the moment there is a big of a renaissance of styles like the Chloe Paddington and the Balenciaga City bag which dropped out of favour to be replaced by other bags.

Good because I love my Uniqlo bag over any other ones I have!
