Hep me find fabulous tailored trousers

I've just bought some gorgeous blouses while on holiday and now realised i don't have trousers to pair them with, as i live mainly in joggers. My favourite type are well-tailored full length trousers, that hang really well. Not sure what type of material but the type that has a good hang, not flimsy material. It must be flared, no tight fitting or fitted ensembles. Ideally, I'd love a pair of high waisted trousers, so clinches the waist nicely.

I only wear them for work, so I wear a pair of block heel low-ish sling backs in black or navy or camel.

I'm 5ft4 and they sit on my ankle (remarkably!) so they'd be a good style to wear with brogues, but I've not mastered that look myself yet!

I’m a huge fan of river island wide leg trousers. I have 2 pairs in black, a navy pair and a green pair. Not all the same style but they’re high waisted, with elastic at the back so they sit nicely and are very comfy.

I’ve ordered the grey ones! Although I’m taller than you so now worried they will be too high up my leg 😂

Yeah, it said the same to me, so I chose to ignore it and just ordered my usual size.

Me+Em trousers really are lovely. I've got a pair of wide-leg flannel trousers from them that I saw a colleague wearing and loved so much I bought them immediately myself. There are a few options in the sale at the moment around your budget. They do a short length which worked well on me at 5'4" but I know people who have got the regular length altered.

It suggested that I buy a large, I think it assumes that if you're in your 50s, you no longer have a waist! I'm an 8-10 and a Small in Uniglo.

I've bought these trousers in the past. They are a decent weight and hang really nicely.

I’m hoping these come back in stock in the aubergine. My Vinted Me+EM navy ones arrived today - like new and at a fraction of the price, very happy.

I recommend Hobbs or Reiss.

Nine Pines straight leg trousers are amazing. They’re a Swedish brand and delivery can be a bit slow but they are so flattering, wash perfectly and even the wider leg ones are flattering too. I love them.

I have a couple of pairs of Boden Westbourne ponte trousers, and love them. Material is quite thick and hangs beautifully. Hopefully they will bring out more colours this year.

I have 4 pairs and they are nice hard wearing fabric and wash well. A bit heavy in really hot weather though.

@KPPlumbing What size do you get ? And what is your usual size please ? Wondering if they are narrow fitting . I am usually a 12.

Abercrombie ‘AF Sloane’ high waisted, wide legged, tailored and reasonably priced. There is a ‘curve’ range too if you’re bigger of bum or thigh, and they come in different lengths.

Theyre out of stock in a lot of sizes/colours at the moment, but they will restock soon for Autumn I reckon. I have them in every colour and they’re great,

Yes same. They run small, so I'm a size 8 and wear M.
