Any hairdressers around pls question about clarifying shampoos

I’ve got lost down a rabbit hole.

do I need a clarifying shampoo every few weeks if I use a hair oil/serum and if so, which one or are they all the same?

I don’t want to spend on something that’s not strictly necessary if a normal shampoo will do.

Ive only recently started using a serum and it suddenly struck me, they’re full of silicones so I must be getting a build up but, are clarifying ones any better than a normal ‘basic’ shampoo?
