I have my hair highlighted every 3 months and apply box dye to my roots in between salon appts to smudge the contrast between the roots & the highlights and manage the cost. This mostly works well, so long as I use purple shampoo to reduce the brassiness of the box dye.
My hairdresser uses blondorplex 36 toner and suggested this might be something I could manage myself at home after doing my roots to maintain better overall colour.
Can any hairdressers or experienced home toners tell me if this a realistic (and sensible) option?
Is it easy to mix - and what do I need to be careful about?
Will it work after box dye?
Is there anything else I need to think about?
