Hair colour and style advice online?

I don’t feel like I can go to a hairdresser as I can’t afford to have them charge me £100+ every 5/6 weeks. I’m stuck in a box dye covering greys crisis and would just like someone to tell me which colour would suit me as I don’t feel my current colour does! Is there anywhere online for advice? I don’t want to post my picture publicly. Any suggestions please?

I get colour from Josh Wood online. It’s as good (possibly better) than what I’ve previously had in a salon. First thing to work out is your skin tone. Are you cool/neutral/warm? From there you can find hair tones to suit you. I have cool undertones and dye my hair a cool toned brown, darker than my natural shade of mousy, which seems to suit me way more than caramel/warmer shades.

how can I find my skin tone? Light earthy green eyes, fair skin but don’t burn. Do I need to pay for a colour analysis?

It’s the undertones you should establish. It’s usually cool, neutral or warm.

I agree knowing your skin tone makes all the difference.

I used to do autumnal hair dyes then discovered that I'm spring...so now do some gingery highlights and look so much more alive.

Cool skin tones tend to either have piercing bright or very solid coloured eyes (winters) or eyes that look slightly watercolour (summers), whereas warm skin tones have flecked eyes (autumns) or a starburst pattern around the pupil (springs).
