QiQi hair treatment

The one done in a salon that is meant to be 'permanent'. Has anyone done this? i have wavy frizzy hair and i really dont want to lose the wave - just the frizz. i don;t like my hair straight so blowdry it wavy. Its eye-waterignly expensive but i am hoping to save money on salon blowdries which i do far too often. The hairdresser assures me that 'minimal control' version of the treatment will result in smooth hair but keep the wave - but I am terrified of ending up straight and flat. Would be great if anyone could share their experiences - have searched but dont find a lot of genuine-looking reviews. Thank you!

I want to know this too. I don't want to lose my curls. Just want rid of frizz.

a last attempt to bump...i guess I will take the plunge and do this and report back :). will be a couple of weeks - didn't have the courage to do this before my holiday as needed to sit on it a bit more so will now do this in 2 or 3 weeks once i am back (and have dithered a bit more)

I’ve not heard of Qiqi but I have had hair Botox treatment and wondered if it was similar? I have had Botox treatment twice now, it lasts up to 6 months, and is brilliant. It removes frizz but doesn’t get rid of the wave or body and my hair is much healthier as I’m using less heat on it. It is the best thing I’ve ever had done to my hair. So if it sounds like a similar treatment to Qiqi go for it, you won’t regret it.

I don’t know what this treatment is but my stylist uses coco choco hair Botox on me, I have super thick curly, frizzy hair. This smooths it, makes it easier to brush and blow dry but if I air dry it my waves/curls are intact.

I'm gonna look for all of these

I thought they were called Kerasilk! Going to have to go into salons physically and talk to them about what I want I think.

EggyBreads · 17/08/2025 14:59

I think kerasilk is another brand of hair keratin treatment. There’s a few.

thank you so much- i will also look for hair botox and find out if QiQi is the same...its exciting to hear that it IS possible to lose the frizz and keep the curls

Is it possible to do this at home?

RoundandSad · 21/08/2025 00:54

@Taxiparent that looks interesting

The instructions don't look too bad, and I don't want to spend hours in a salon

Are you a curly girl who wants to keep the curl? Does that work? I tried the one on Amazon that everyone uses. It was awful and it smelt horrible.

I noticed this one is saying to wash with warm water after all the application palaver which surprises me

That's a much better price than going to a salon to

Also puzzled because it says to keep half an inch away from the scalp, but my hair is most frizzy at the scalp

Taxiparent · 21/08/2025 03:19

@RoundandSad it doesn’t smell great when straightening, but I tend to have windows and doors open, last week I did my daughters in the garden, using an outdoor plug! My hair is curly, but frizzy and doesn’t have 1 nice defined curl style, this does straighten for a couple of weeks, but as it washes out the curls come back if I leave them. I ignore the scalp thing as I have frizz at the root too, but I have noticed that as my hair thins with age, it doesn’t have volume if I go right to the root. I am lucky that it doesn’t irritate my scalp which I guess is the reason for not applying too closely.
