Rucksack type suitcase I can put under seat on plane

I was recently on a plane and saw some a people walk off with great-looking suitcases they could strap on their back and which seemed to adhere to the under seat requirements. Can anyone recommend some nice ones that can fit enough for a few days away?

I was going to suggest Aerolite. You can search for luggage according to the airline.

I don't know about nice, but Primark do cheap versions.

I got ours from Home Bargains, around £10 & dd got a great one from Vinted, just searched on underseat backpack & the airline you're flying with (Easyjet allowance is tiny!)

You can get backpacks that open up at the side like suitcases.

The trolley ones really limit what you can fit in though as the wheels and handle take up so much room.

I just have a normal 30l hiking backpack...
not as stylish but, fits easily 4 days worth of clothes and doubles up as a day pack for excursions if needed.
I have used mine for EasyJet and Ryanair without problems.

I bought this for the Ryanair 'free' bag (after a recommendation here) and because it has compression straps it holds an amazing amount. It's probably not quite what you're looking for as it's definitely a 'backpack' rather than a 'suitcase' but I'm a fan (I have the nice petrol blue one) so thought it worth mentioning.

I've used this on EasyJet three times this year. It holds loads and never even gets checked because it has exactly the right dimensions.

I've got Cabin Zeros in all three sizes. They use every cm of the allowance for under the seat or cabin baggage.

@saraclarais it only the 28l that goes under the seats (ie the smaller of the 3 sizes)?

I’ve got that one from Primark (needed something quickly for an hand luggage only flight I hadn’t planned for!) and I’ve been pleasantly surprised. It fits a lot! I’ve noticed that the fabric has worn away near the wheels but I travel a lot so it’s had a fair bit of use this summer. It’s ok as a backpack but it also wheels along really easily. For the price, I was pleased with it.

Each airline has slightly different rules so make sure whatever you buy works for the airline you are travelling with.

I was going to repeat message above. Think about what airlines you are most likely to use. EasyJet is pretty good compared to some for under seat. For example for a recent trip my kids were able to take their large smiggle school bags as under seat. However, there are other airlines where we’ve flown that they’ve not been able to do that and needed pretty small rucksacks in comparison. Conversely have also got away with proper suitcases for free - jet2 is v generous as you get handbaggage plus a small bag.

Yep. The 28l is exactly the maximum volume/size for under seat baggage for all airlines. The other sizes are maximum overhead cabin baggage but for different airlines.

Correcting myself. I think easyJet is more generous, but I don't think the 36l meets their dimensions. Worth checking though
