Anyone recommend the Mia Tui bags?

I keep seeing these on my social feeds, particularly the Jennie travel bag. Has anyone bought one, and would you recommend?

Initially, I want to use it for travelling, but ongoing I think it could be quite a useful work bag.

Is there much difference between the standard Jennie and the mini? Odd that it suggests if you’re under 5ft 5 you should go for the mini ??

Anyone recommend the Mia Tui bags?

I have a mini Jen which is now called Jet, I think. It’s absolutely brilliant for travelling, especially flying, as it passes as a handbag, but can fit so much into it. Mine came with a water bottle and a small clutch bag. I carry passports and holiday paperwork, sunglasses case, reading glasses and case, normal glasses and case, kindle, phone, phone charger, clear bag with toiletries, keys, wallet etc etc. Slips over the handle of a rolly suitcase. I thought the Jennie was too big for me.

Nordace also do an amazing looking travel bag with a sleeve for a laptop, but I’ve never tried one. They are much more expensive.

I’ve got a Nordace rucksack, which is great, and their totes do look good but this brand just seemed to look a little more stylish

I’ve had a couple of Jennies for work travel and they were awesome. I could get my laptop, cables and overnight toiletries and change of clothes, plus phone/passport/ purse/ water bottle and still find everything easily

ObstreperousCushion · 09/08/2025 17:16

I have their work rucksack and a handbag - really good quality, bright lining so you can see into the bags, so many internal pockets and a key clip, have lasted years. I don’t like totes, so I haven’t tried the Jenny, but it’s definitely a brand that I’d recommend.

TheLemonOtter · 09/08/2025 17:16

They are really well designed for space and ease of use, but i have the "lite" one and tbh the fabric does look cheap. I might try the other material one day though, as they are otherwise really good.

Tinytigertail · 09/08/2025 17:27

They are well designed and thought through, but I wouldn't call them stylish. To me, they are quite cheap looking. The Jennie, if I recall, was also ridiculously large. I had a couple and charity shopped them both. I do like my Nordace for travel, but actually find it has a few too many compartments, so I'm still on the hunt for my holy grail travel bag.

diterictur · 09/08/2025 17:29

They are practical and well made but yes they did look a bit cheap/unstylish

I have ended up using only for travelling

HolidayMojitos · 09/08/2025 17:35

I think I was half hoping you’d all say the bags are rubbish quality and I shouldn’t spend ~£60 on a new bag. From the feedback here, it seems like I HAVE to buy one 🤷‍♀️

I use Samantha’s as my every day bag. They are hardwearing and have handy pockets and an integral bag (I keep medicines etc in that). I also like the coin purses. I’m 6ft so need a big ish bag otherwise look a bit stupid..

Britpopbaby · 09/08/2025 20:53

They have some on QVC so it might be worth looking on there.

Reportedex · 09/08/2025 21:54

I have a few. I’ve been disappointed in the rucksack but they don’t make the style I have any more. It got wear marks. But the jennies - I have two - have stood the test of time. And I have a Zoe.

I love them. I wouldn’t say they’re trendy but dead practical for carrying half my life to and from work. And dead good for travel.

G5000 · 09/08/2025 21:58

I bought one but it looked really cheap and plasticky, and had a very strong chemical smell. Maybe I got unlucky.

Mum2KSS · 05/09/2025 13:17

I ordered the Jet in navy after reading this thread and it arrived yesterday, looks fantastic and looking forward to taking it abroad next month :) came with a free passport wallet as well!

MageQueen · 05/09/2025 13:19

They are great for travelling and really do fit a lot. But they don't work as a daily bag i find as they're too heavy. I tried to use mine for work as it's great with a laptop etc, but eventually, I had to go back to a lightweight backpack.

I do still use it whenever I travel though and on an overnight work trip recently I took it as my bag with a small laptop backpag in addition.

I agree with you, they just never look that nice to me. I've had pleather bags before and they don't look as tacky as the Mia Tui ones.

BlackSheepThisYear · 05/09/2025 20:54

I have a backpack (small ish) and I love it. Perfect size, good quality, love the pockets and compartments. I use it for work and as a flight bag. However I did get it off Vinted for £12 - I couldn’t have spent so much on a rucksack without seeing it first.

DrJump · 05/09/2025 20:58

I've had my Jennie for over six years. Initially got as a nappy bag. I often use it as an overnight bag then as a hand bag for the next day.
The pleather is starting to show its age now.

I've got the Sydney backpack too which was great for home schooling and I often use for going to sports events.

I've been thinking about getting one of the lite fabric but just not sure.
