Hi all
This is a request on behalf of my mum, my brother is getting married in September in Portugal, the ceremony is late afternoon so most of the event will be in the evening. It's at a vineyard. My mum is looking for a dress but struggling to find one she likes.

She's 64, 5'2 (at a push), hourglass figure, size 14, but with big boobs, she does sometimes wear a 16 to accommodate but I think that can swamp her a bit.
She prefers a V or wrap style neckline, feels anything high neck makes her boobs look bigger/frumpy, but also doesn't want anything too low cut.
Ideally she wants a cap or short sleeve, but will wear sleeveless. Long sleeves are often too long and it will be hot, and strappy dresses don't suit the kind of bra she needs and she wants a bit more coverage anyway.
She is very fair skinned, her hair was very red when younger, now mainly grey.
Bridesmaids are in satin slip dresses in a browny colour just for reference.
Bride and groom want her to wear whatever she feels comfortable in no specific colours etc.
She's unlikely to wear it more than once so max budget £150.

I'm tall and very straight up and down, and have almost the opposite dress needs, so I'm not being particularly helpful with the search. We are planning to head to John Lewis or similar soon just to try things on, but in the meantime can any petite MNs help her out?

I have no idea what would be most appropriate for Portugal - but if it’s in September she has time to choose a dress to fit her largest measurement and then have it altered to fit the rest of her.

There is a preloved wedding and occasion wear group on Facebook where she/you may find inspiration. Clothes on pictures of real women and expensive stuff for half the price.

Might be worth checking out.

I think I am similar size/shape and Bombshell dresses would be suitable but they aren't around anymore so preloved might work.

I think the Bombshell designer trades as Katya Wildman now. Will check.

my first thought was Bombshell as per Spirallingdownwards post. Or Jasper Conran, mostly natural materials, lovely striking silhouette, only a few have short sleeves though

or a few from a quick trawl through the JL site. I’d recommend a personal shopper visit to a JL store as they really know their stuff

This is a really good point

Thanks for all of the suggestions, I'm seeing her tomorrow so it definitely gives us some ideas to be getting on with
