Help! BIAB lifts / breaks off my thumbs. What’s happening?!

Hi everyone,
I’ve been getting BIAB on my nails every 3 weeks for 3 months now. The nail tech I’ve been going to is so lovely and as far as I can tell she does all of the “correct” steps.
However every single manicure I’ve had hasn’t lasted the full 3 weeks on my thumbs. This picture is after 1.5 weeks. The longest my thumbs have lasted is 2 weeks.
Has anyone else experienced this? Every other nail is fine and I’ve never had any lifting at the cuticle end, only the tip. Any advice please?

Using cuticle oil helps my nails not lift, have you tried that? Not sure why they'd be lifting specifically on the thumbs though. Do you wear gloves for washing up etc?

I don't use cuticle oil as often as I should, I will definitely start that more often. Yes I do wear gloves for washing up etc! I'm wondering if it's something to do with the shape of my thumbs, seeing as its only on those nails. Really odd and frustrating!

It could be the shape of them, I can't have square edges otherwise mine lift. I type all day too.

@Matildahoney ahh okay that makes sense! Shame as I love square shape but maybe I'll try to round them off next time and see if that helps. I also type all day!

I have almond shape and never have any problems, as soon as I try to have them square for whatever reason they chip, or break, or peel.

Are you using your thumb nails more than your others maybe? I sometimes find the gel on my index finger lifts more quickly than the others if I use it for things like peeling labels off stuff!

Mine also used to lift when I had square shape. My nail tech said that it was to do with my natural nails being quite curved so having a square shape would increase the chance of the BIAB lifting. I changed to an oval shape and they didn't lift at all. Same with the almond shape I currently have so maybe try that.

@roundroundround thank you definitely think this will be my next step!
