Hello there,

Since reaching 50 earlier this year, my skin has definitely changed and erm the menopause certainly hasnt helped ouch! I feel its lacking moisture more and it looks somewhat paler, Im a redhead with freckles, pale complexion and highlighted my hair to blonde to give me a boost which has helped!!

I currently cleanse with a face oil, simple toner, vitamin C serum and a 50 spf moisturiser, at night I just use the same face oil cleanser and nivea night cream.

I have noticed my skin is still dry and would love to know what others use to keep their skin glowing after 50!! I think I need to drink more water too might help :) I also exfoliate my skin twice a week and a mask too which is the No 7 one...
thanks so much
x

Everyone is different but I’ve found that mixing some rosehip oil into cerave lotion works at night (sometimes in day too) and then a layer of Vaseline over the top.

I also use Sam bunting night time all in one plus some extra retinol occasionally.

also glycolic acid wipes twice a week at bedtime seem to be very necessary for me now

I put the cerave / oil / Vaseline over what ever is used at night and my skin seems happy.

also I swear by ground flax seed daily, and omega 3 fish oil. My optician does too! (For dry eyes.)

And aerobic exercise twice a week - hiit or sprint interval training. I think getting the circulation going helps hugely! I do resistance training too but the aerobic is for my heart (everything else follows!)

I have a myoma night oil which I put on after an oil cleanse, toner and serum. It is very hydrating although took a few days to get used to. Noticed the difference when waking up with much more hydrated (and wonderfully soft) skin straight away.

I don't know how that brand works vs others, but I think a moisturising oil has been the best product I've found for going over the top of everything else in my skincare routine.
