Gel Nails - help me decide on a bloody colour!!!!

On holiday, want a gel manicure before I go back as it’s a fraction of the cost. There are seventy billion options, so help me choose!

I’ve only had gels twice before in the UK both a deep red. I’ve currently got a light pink which has been on two weeks (I had it done here.) I am quite good at painting my nails when I can be arsed, so would prefer something I can’t achieve at home. I tend to wear light pastel type colours, or greens (I’m not a black and red type.)

There are a squillion options so I think I am best showing a picture.

Pale peach

If you're not a red girl go light pink/ nude colours.

Ooh what about a lovely coral? Bright and zingy while you're away in the sun?

I think as you have a tan (at least it looks like you have from the pic,) I would go with white. I'm pretty good at doing my own nails but find achieving an even white coverage difficult.

I’m going to ask my nail lady to do these on Saturday, but in blue instead of burgundy

I love a classic red, but like red lippy, it’s also very dressy. Hence the dilemmas!

Orange!

With your skin tone, you need warm colours- peach, warm pink, coral, even orange or yellow if you want to be bold. You need to avoid blue, green etc as they won’t go with your colouring .

What kind of holiday? As say a cruise with lots of dressing up you might want sparkles, European city break less so etc.

Coral or orange!

I am the same with red but like neutral to be more ‘dressed down’. But then want something special from getting my nails done 😬 so I find glazed donut works really well!

@Needanadultgapyear I’m already away, I’m in Thailand. Fly back in a few days and want to take advantage of these things being far cheaper than the UK (the only colour I usually use is Essie Ballet Slippers as it’s very neutral and quite forgiving - nail polish on me usually lasts about 12/24 hours, tops.)

Ooooooh! I like that. It’s neutral enough, but not so neutral that it’s not much different to something I could do myself. Vaguely coral-esque too.

@BelindaLouisathat kind of sage green might work, as it has earthy tones. Mint green was what I was thinking of.

Ah! That’s good, and possibly not so good as I still can’t make a decision!

Now understand Glazed Donut. Like it, but I can (probably) do it myself, at least to a reasonable extent.

Neon pink or coral

Really not keen on neon, sorry! Coral is growing on me (depending on the shade.)
